Ghosts of Saltmarsh Hello, I’m looking to run a paid game of Ghosts of Saltmarsh. My version of Ghosts of Saltmarsh will be different than the book; while there will be adventures from the book itself, I will be tying it together with its own overarching story. Here is a quick synopsis: Saltmarsh. A little port town west of Waterdeep sits hidden on Moonshae Isles. Each of you felt drawn to this small town for your own reasons: escape, piracy, delusions of grandeur. What you come across is a small, wood-shackled village led by a Council. Calling this town a shit hole would be a more of a compliment than an insult. Despite this, the rustic, seafaring town is nothing but welcoming to new sailors. Children scream and play near the docks, individuals welcome you to the Snapping Line or the Wicker Goat. Upon hearing of your arrival, the Head Councilperson, Monica Oweland, sent her ambassador, a triton by the name of Troilus, to greet you. Rumor has it that the Sword Coast and the seas around it are truly ran by seven Pirate Lords. Each with their own unique Piece of 8 denoting their position. But while the Lords are busy squabbling amongst themselves. The Scarlett Brotherhood, a nefarious sea gang, has their own plans for Saltmarsh. A plan that might unearth the Ghosts of Saltmarsh. As a group we will settle on one of three story hooks: Each of you are searching for an alchemist by the name of Ector Moore. It is said he was working on a project for eternal life, what could it really be? Driven to some ideas of piracy, you’re searching for a crew or ship to join. A Pirate’s trust is earned, not bought. And you’re here for tryouts. A mysterious artifact that people believe is a Piece of 8 remains unclaimed. It’s a race to claim one and become a Pirate Lord. Upon forming a group, we will go over character creation, expectations of players and DM, set a schedule, and set up the start of our adventure with the hook to get all of you to Saltmarsh. This is capped at 6 players. $15/ a session. With this, you will get the following: —access to all source books I have, dynamic lighting, and custom tokens, —Character-specific quests/ storylines that impact the world; —A living, breathing world that is impacted by decisions you make, and decisions you do not make. --Thoroughly planned sessions with battle maps, tokens, music, and images. --A DM with 8 years experience -Sessions will last between 3-4hrs, once a week. The following information is pertinent for my table: —people from all walks of life are welcomed at my table. Hate and ignorance is not. —Please communicate with me if you will be unable to attend. If you are not present, your character does not earn XP. —My tables are about 70/30 rp to combat. --All of you are a team, a crew in the making. Your voices will need to be heard. --New players are welcomed. I will walk you through character creation, backstory creation, and your first few levels. Please take a bit of time to familiarize yourself with basic aspects of the game. --Your character should want to work with a group. I create a trail of breadcrumbs for all of you to follow; it is your job to make a decision and act on it. But if your character does not want to be with a group, then it will need to be retired and a new character created. --I am running a serious campaign of intrigue with a mystical and eldritch tone. Please create characters that fit this mold, i.e., no anime/ caricature type characters. --PhB, Xanathar’s, Tome of Foes, Sword Coast, Tasha’s, Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount, and Volo’s are fair game for character creation. I do not utilize the newest book on dragons (as I do not own it yet) or the Van Richten’s Guide. --No psionic races are allowed (there’s a halfling that can do this that I am not found of).Yuan-ti, centaurs, veldakan, kalashtar, warforged, and loxodon are also banned. --Game will run from 630-10:00 on Thursdays, CST. As far as materials from the books are concerned: --PhB, Xanathar’s, Tome of Foes, Sword Coast, Tasha’s, Explorer’s Guide to Wildemount, and Volo’s are fair game for character creation. I do not utilize the newest book on dragons (as I do not own it yet) or the Van Richten’s Guide. --No psionic races are allowed (there’s a halfling that can do this that I am not found of). Yuan-ti, centaurs, veldakan, loxodon are also banned. --You can dice roll (4d6, drop the lowest) or do standard array for character creation. --No V. Human. Every person can start with a RP feat (meaning no sentinel, Pole Arm master, GW Master, Crossbow Expert). --No lucky feat, of the halfling feat that shares it with the party. --You must have the required spell components for casting. I will make it easy for you to obtain, but you will need to keep track of it. --ASI + Feat when your class earns them Please feel free to reach out to me here or Discord: UTX_Shadow#4933 Application or post at the end of this thread: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/10598311/applications/?pageforid=10598311#post-10598311 Application Name: Pronouns: Age: D&D Experience: What do you want to take away from a game of D&D?: What would make a paid game of D&D worth it for you?: Character questions: How would your character fit in with a world full of pirates? What is your character seeking to gain? Is your character open to working with others?
