Looking for salty sailors (Players) and charismatic captain (DM) Ahoy matey! Set sail for Saltmarsh and if you’re a savvy sailor, to adventures beyond! Goal: I’m looking to bring together a group of like-minded folks for a play-through of The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh, with an eye towards continuing as a group and continuing through The Ghosts of Saltmarsh campaign. Group dynamic: I’m aiming for a weekly Saturday night group of 5-6 people, preferably with at least one other person besides me who could DM. Ideally, there would be another DM in the group so we could play two games, with two different DMs, that could switch-off every few weeks or so or whenever the DM needs a breather or there is a natural break in the story. This can help keep the DMs fresh and ensure there are no forever DMs. So, if you’re a DM who wants to play some or a Player who wants to DM, you are especially encouraged to apply. If you don’t DM, fear not! We will need you too! Enthusiastic players are welcome! Setting: Nestled on the coast of the Azure Sea is Saltmarsh, a sleepy fishing village that sits on the precipice of destruction. Smugglers guide their ships to hidden coves, willing to slit the throat of anyone foolhardy enough to cross their path. Cruel sahuagin gather beneath the waves, plotting to sweep away coastal cities. Drowned sailors stir to unnatural life, animated by dark magic and sent forth in search of revenge. The cult of a forbidden god extends its reach outward from a decaying port, hungry for fresh victims and willing recruits. While Saltmarsh slumbers, the evils that seek to plunder it grow stronger. Heroes must arise to keep the waves safe! Background: Ghosts of Saltmarsh combines some of the most popular classic adventures from the first edition of Dungeons & Dragons including some of the best nautical adventures from Dungeon magazine. Playing through each story, in a seafaring campaign, leads characters from level 1 through level 12. The appendices also cover mechanics for ship-to-ship combat, new magic items, monsters, and more! Hoist your sails, pull up anchor, and set a course for adventure!   *All interested Parties should answer the questions below.

Name:  Tristan Age:  25 Preferred Pronouns:  He/Him Time Zone:  Eastern Standard Time   What is your experience with TTRPGs and Roll20?  I've played several years of 5e and a few other systems and have experience with Roll20. For group longevity and game variety, we may rotate DMs and Games. How do you feel about this?  I feel like this is great idea. Do you have any interest in DMing in the future?  Yes, though I will have to shake off the dust a bit. How do you feel about character death?  I feel character death should be allowed if narratively appropriate or they do something especially stupid. What do you expect from the DM?  I feel a DM should encourage fun and engagement with the story. Combat and roleplay are equally fun. What do you expect from the other players?  I expect them to not violate the comfortability of other players and not grind the game to a halt because they disagree with the party and refuse to budge on their stance for an hour, to the point they take other players' magic items hostage. What do you bring to the table?  I have a lot of experience on how to build strong or interesting characters, I enjoy playing characters that engage with the world through both their backstory and actions, I have experience with creating fun and engaging storylines for players. What types of characters do you like to play and why?  I like playing characters that are levelheaded but willing to be reckless if it will save others. I will probably play a paladin since I really like the class. What kind of players do you prefer to play with?   I am flexible, as playing with people with varying playstyles can create some fun interactions. What is a good and bad experience with D&D that you've had or heard about ? A good experience I had was my first campaign, playing Storm King's Thunder at my local game store. A bad experience was the guy we allowed into the group a year and a half into the game who was the catalyst for it falling apart. What would you like to do or experience in your game?  I am easy in terms of what I want, roleplay and combat are both fun and getting to practice both would be fun.
Thank you all for your interest however, all of the spots are currently filled. I may contact you at some point in the future should a spot become available. Thanks again and Happy Gaming!   ~Sherlock
