This game is going to be all about the basics; what every new player needs to know about the game and how to play. I've been playing 5e since it hit the shelves, and I love teaching new players how to play. It can be one of the most rewarding and fun parts of the hobby. I'm a patient teacher, and understand the feeling of trying something new and complex. In this session, I'll be taking player on a tour of the basics, Like... >How to build a character: From stats to backstory, the players main job in the game is to roleplay their character. Who their character is, and how they mechanically work is all based on the game system. However, those rules can be long and complexly worded, and some popular optional rules aren't often discussed. We'll go through how to make a character on roll20, or just on pen and paper. >Roles and Playstyles: Not everyone has had time to sift through stereotypes they've seen or played enough to get a good look at the different roles a character can play. >How to play: When the dice start rolling, practicing quick addition, and knowing which skill, save, check, or action to use can be daunting. We'll play a quick adventure about your characters just starting out, with the main parts of playing DnD included. >Leveling up: Part of DnD is advancement, both growing as a character and mechanically how to handle your character's advancement. >What's Next: Once you've learned how to play, what are the next steps on getting further into the community? https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/319026/learn-to-play-5e This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of 10$ per player via StartPlaying.
