As a masked face headbutts you for the fifth time in a row, it's becoming apparent that they lied. You sweep the legs out from under the figure, the glowing cannister on his back tumbling away. You try and jump for it, a gas bomb probably, but he grabs your foot mid flight and you face plant into the ground. Yep, that's a broken nose. He climbs onto your back and puts gun to the back of your head. You close your eyes wondering if death is the only way that corp members ever get to take leave, and if it's paid or unpaid. A gunshot sounds... and death feels a lot like life does. Disappointing. "Get up, we've got 5 minutes til parade duty" Not dead then. You push yourself up and grab the cannister. Kick the body once for good measure and head back to do your job. If you're lucky they'll pay overtime this week. Helix: Heroes of Piltover is a campaign set in the world of Runeterra as shown in the animated show Arcane. The game takes place 5 years after the show during a time of tense peace between the newly formed Zaun and the now republic of Piltover. Players will begin playing as part of a peacekeeping force known as Helix. Their stated mission is community outreach between the two nations, but they more often find themselves used as political pawns while not having the power to affect serious change. This will be further complicated when the players stumble upon a conspiracy that could lead to the downfall of both nations to a carnivorous global political stage. This is a Genesys game, and for most of us it'll be our first time trying. if you've always wanted to try something different than DnD but don't know where to start, this is a great place for it. Genesys is a story driven game that has more genre flexibility while also leaning more into the players' ability to affect the story.
