One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them... https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/319588/the-one-ring-2e-slash-slash-friday-nights What is it? The One Ring 2e is a new game set in the world's most storied fantasy setting - Professor Tolkien's Middle Earth. It's been twenty-four years since the Battle of Five Armies and Bilbo Baggins' return to the Shire. Hope, briefly returned to the lands of the Free People of Middle Earth, is fading again as the Dark Lord of Mordor rises in the east and prepares to make his war. Orcs, wargs and worse once again multiply, swarm, infest the mountain keeps and the hidden holes in the Misty Mountains - and beyond... Heroes rise to defend those who cannot do so themselves. Elves of Lindon, Dwarves of Durin's Folk, secretive Dunedain, proud Bardings, Bree-folk and even the Hobbits will answer the call, as the fires of Carn Dûm burn in the far north, and drums sound in the deep. There is no escape from this. They are coming. Will you be there to stop them? Set in Eriador, north-western part of Middle Earth, this campaign will take Player-heroes from humble beginnings as young adventurers through many trials and travails to an epic confrontation with an old foe. Expect to meet familiar characters, tread all across the region and immerse yourself in the world of Professor's making. How will this run? I aim to create a stable weekly group of people who enjoy Lord of the Rings for what it is - heroic and epic fantasy storytelling in the world rcih and nuanced. It will hardly be gory or gritty, since that's not the spirit of Middle Earth, but you will most likely have to bare your swords once in a while. The campaign will most likely be quite roleplay-heavy, focused on player choices and actions above all else. There will be a Session 0 which will be used to create characters, discuss and introduce them, as well as to talk about expectations, limits and boundaries for all the players. The running time of a session will most likely be around 3 hours. This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $15 per session, starting from Session 2. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. About me Hi! I'm Sergey, a 30 years old TTRPG enthusiast from the other side of the globe! That is, I live in Central Asia, in that faraway fairytale land somewhere between Russia and China. I have a background in social sciences and history, and a decade of experience working as an interpreter and a tour guide. English isn’t my first language but years of working as an interpreter, translator and tour guide have given me an excellent grasp of both the spoken and written form. I love running games, I love storytelling and I love filling characters’ lives with adventure. I run my games like a show, full of drama and action. Rivalries come to the fore, friendships are tested, tempers flare… and there is always a clock ticking somewhere. I see it as my chief responsibility as a GM that everyone has fun and walks away from the table satisfied and eager for the next session. That doesn’t mean your characters are going to have it easy! I work for player enjoyment first and foremost. If you’re liking everything you’ve seen so far, great! Joining a game is really simple. Just send me a message on Discord (The Colonel#7185) or Roll20! See you in Middle-Earth!
