Requirements : R20 (have not made the switch to FoundryVTT yet), Discord, Good mic & internet, Desire to play a hero Playable Races : Pretty open to what you want to play. Have at least a concept in your mind, we will build our characters and backstory during our session 0. Playable Classes : Again pretty open to what you wanna play. Have a concept in your mind and available for very brief discussing after application. We'll flesh it out during session 0. Party Composition : Of the three filled spots we have one player is building a fighter, one is building a rogue, and the other a warlock About the DM : I started playing D&D with my dad and his buddies during AD&D and haven't looked back. Did a lot of playing on and off again until my late teens and early twenties when I started world building and growing my Homebrew setting. After years of working on it off and on while finishing college and establishing our family and careers I got to the point I wanted to DM again. Currently have an ongoing 5 year long 1x a month campaign on R20.      My preferred style of DM'ing is heavy on the story and building up to more RP, with a good mix of the other aspects. Looking for like minded players who are wanting to build up them RP chops. Intro:      ‘The port city of Xavier has been abuzz with new visitors and excitement. Thanks to the newly founded Free-State to the NE trade has grown once again and plan for expansion has been laid at the feet of the city and its people. After the age of turmoil and war the people of Anchorhead have welcomed the calm seas and smooth sailing. Riches flow and jobs are plenty.      But there are still those who whisper among the shadowed alleyways of the city. Claiming that the certain doom of bygone years still lingers just a moment away. Stars falling, cities sprouting up from nothing, visitors from strange lands that were once thought to be myths. The thrill of new excitement pulls at those willing to explore and experience the unknown.      Many miles away the growing city of Uranthol struggles to establish itself in a region of unsettled lands. Fighting off wyrm's, roving bands of raiders, and uncivilized tribes of plains wandering goblins and their kin. Though the council there has proven themselves to be hearty warriors and capable of defending their newly claimed lands. The region is still very much feral and unsettled. Plenty of land out there is still yet to be claimed.      To the North bordering the arctic wastes and separated by a small sea. The Kingdom of the Hero King from the second age is experiencing their own troubles. Crime is on the rise, and their once quiet neighbors are rumored to be growing restless. Tired of such a large kingdom enjoying fertile lands while their people struggle to make ends meet. Rumor is the two groups are working together and plotting to take what they feel is rightfully theirs.      What was promised to be an age of peace is quickly shaping up to be everything but that...' What your application should contain: A brief write up on the character you wish to play, a backstory (can be vague and we will tie everything together in a session 0). A little about yourself and what you are looking for in a game. Then 3 things you want your character to accomplish
Hey Maxi! Sounds like a good game, I'm interested in it. I played a ton of D&D when I was younger - 2/3/3.5 but then fell away from it and just started 5E a couple of years ago. Just finished running my own year-long campaign and putting together a new one. I'm ready to get back into playing and the time works well for me since I am off on Fridays as well. Hoping we can have a good mix of RP, combat, exploration and everything else that makes the game fun! I have an idea for a gnomish cleric of knowledge (deity appropriate to your homebrew.) My character was not satisfied with serving in the temple, studying old books, writing down theories, ad nauseum. How much can one person write about beetles anyway? Eventually he started asking for permission to go out and learn about the world /directly./ Eventually he asked so many times they agreed, giving him an -important mission- to learn about the outside world. It might take him a long time to come back. They might not want him to come back.  I'd like to set up some kind of bond with one of more of the other characters - we can discuss at session 0.
Hi there, Looking to play a fighter/thief or bard/thief, the backstory is that he came from a noble family who has become pressured by a thieves guild for protection. MY character was forcibly enlisted to help the theives on a couple of jobs, until one went south. Fleeing from the city and his family, he went out to find fortune as a mercenary in order to gain the riches necessary to return home and extricate his family from the grip of the guild. I haven't played 5e, but played as a teenager in 2e, interesting to see if it has the same spark. Not looking to min/max a character, looking to try out rping, and help build the world. Hey hey,  Sounds like my cup of tea, this one.  Character idea: Theodor, a fallen knight of a noble family. His parents are relatively wealthy nobles, who worship (insert deity here) to the point that Theodor's father and brother(s) all became paladins. Theodor grew up a spoiled, willful noble who was initially brought in to the church and became a paladin like his father, but soon realized that all this holier-than-thou business was getting in the way of him having as much fun as possible. Being a rowdy, somewhat selfish handsome rogue that he is, he broke his oath and disappeared from his family. Without realizing it himself, he is becoming slowly more corrupted and verging on going from someone who just wants to have fun, to someone who actually falls to darkness. His active goals are to adventure and become renowned without his family name and the god they so revere, but a goal he's not even aware of is to not become utterly corrupted and evil.  Mechanically, Theo would be an Oathbreaker paladin, who multiclasses in to Hexblade. I've played this combo in one-shots and it's actually super fun.  Backup character ideas: 1. An adopted half-elf divination wizard from a rich human merchant family, who suffers from extremely low self-esteem and a burning desire to prove that she is just as good or better as her adopted sisters. She's also a neat-freak and constantly cleans things with prestidigitation.  2. A seemingly human-looking aberrant mind sorcerer with zero social skills, who travels with a secret that if it was found out, would get her killed immediately. (this one is a bit of a wilder concept and would require some liberties) Besides these I'm also open to creating whatever suits the party balance.  I've been involved with D&D for a bit over a year. Started as a DM (gasp) and now actively playing in a campaign as well as doing as many one-shots as I can. I also watch a ton of shows- my favorite being Dimension20. I'm an enthusiastic and involved player, who is looking for a long term campaign to sink my teeth into. I love complex characters and juicy RP as well as challenging combat.
