Hey there! This is a bit of a different ad than the typical LFGs for one primary purpose: I'm not actually looking/in need of a campaign to join immediately (though my Sundays are currently open to possibilities). What I'm actually looking for at the moment is a group of likeminded TTRPG players to make friends with and possibly get into games together once we know we all vibe well together. My selection of friends who enjoy tabletop is pretty narrow at the moment and I'd really love to expand my social circle! I'm open both to hearing from individual people and pre-existing groups of friends who are also looking to expand their social circles (in fact, sometimes the latter is preferable because it can definitely be easier than trying to find a bunch of individual strangers who all get along). If this is something that interests you, please read on to learn a bit more about me and what I'm looking for in a group! About me: I go by Kayla or Gneerly (no preference) and I'm a queer 24y/o Canadian (she/her). I'm an artist and I also enjoy writing, usually through text RPing with friends- I often like to supplement campaigns with out-of-session text RP between characters and NPCs alike. I love & work with animals in a veterinary clinic during the day, and spend most of my nights online with friends, either playing D&D/PF2 or various video games. Some games I'm into include League (I know, I'm sorry), Minecraft, Destiny 2 (though it's been a while), and a handful of other singleplayer games like Disco Elysium, Ruined King, Portal, Dishonored, Hades... honestly just kind of a random assortment of stuff that catches my eye. Sometimes we play Uno together too- party/board game-style games are def fun too! I'm always on the hunt for more games to enjoy with friends, especially free/cheap ones. I (feel like I) have a good sense of humor that never relies on bigotry, and tend to sprinkle my vocabulary with group memes and jokes (and swearing, I should add, in case you're not comfortable with that). Because nobody ever talks the same in an ad as they do day-to-day, you can also check out my Twitter account (@Gneerly) to get a more accurate of idea of my personality (and see my art!). Who am I looking for? I'm looking for anyone 20 years or older who thinks that we sound like we have a lot in common, first and foremost, of course. TTRPG-wise, I've played a lot of D&D5e but recently have gotten really into Pathfinder 2e as well, so if you currently play or are interested in trying PF2e that's a huge bonus. It's a LOT of fun, I promise- like D&D but with more customization. I vastly prefer games that are whatever you'd call the opposite of "gritty"- I'm here to have fun, tell a story, RP a lot, and feel like a cool adventurer/hero; not so much to spend every session fighting to keep my character from dying of starvation or what have you. In my current group, we rarely ever keep track of things like rations or ammunition, unless the situation calls for it (stranded on an island or something like that). We're also firm believers in "rule of cool" where possible, and various homebrew rule tweaks are commonly employed, usually to the players' benefit. As for perma-death, I think a good rule of thumb that we typically follow would be "the DM is never actively trying to kill you, but if you do some real dumb shit even after being warned, then you're on your own". In terms of the kind of person I get along with, I definitely prefer people who don't take themselves too seriously, have the same sense of humor as me, are LGBTQ+ or allies, and are reliable. That's a big one honestly- it feels increasingly difficult these days to find new people online that actually respond to messages or actively message you first, so I'm really looking for people who are as active as I am, and who will reliably show up to/engage with any kind of campaign that we may end up playing in together (definitely on a weekly basis, I might add- anything longer than that ruins my attention span unfortunately). I'm looking for friends I can regularly chat and hang out with- I'm most active in the evening/nighttime hours (EST) during the week, and afternoon through nighttime on weekends. (Speaking of which- campaign-wise, I'm never consistently available earlier than 9pm EST, so 9:30-10pm start time is usually my sweet spot, with an end time between 1-2am. Exceptions do occur and I'll usually announce if I'm available earlier on any given night.) Also it'd be cool to find fellow artists but totally not a requirement! Big bonus if you also like text RPing and think that rping our characters together would be a ton of fun. :D If any or all of this sounds up your alley, please feel free to message me for my discord handle (or comment your interest below and I'll send it to you) , where I'm available pretty much 24/7 to chat. I would just post it here in the ad, but I'd rather not risk potential weirdos or spam bots picking it up... Note that a request for my handle is no-commitment on either side, and if the vibes don't feel right I take no offense personally (and ask the same of you). I really am looking for long-term, good friends to have fun with, and will give anyone a chance but definitely won't lie or string someone along if I feel like we aren't a good fit. :) Thanks for reading, and here's to hopefully meeting some cool people/groups!
