Teleport Pads

Just a suggestion for a feature that I think would be cool and bring value to the Roll20 VTT.  I think it would be really cool and valuable if you had the ability to lay down teleport pads on the map and link them.  I know all players have to be on the same map currently, so no teleporting to another map, but just being able to have a player move their token to location x,y and have it automagically appear at location a,b on the same map would be a cool effect and really heighten the gaming experience in my mind.  Presentation always counts, and having that little trick in the toolbox would be a nice addition to the Roll20 platform.  Thanks for the consideration. Mike
This is nice, especially with things like Staicases that lead you to another hidden area on the same map on a different level. When I ran my game my players were always like "Okay I go up these stairs, where next?"
Select all the tokens, copy them, delete them, and then paste them in the new location.
Eric B. said: Select all the tokens, copy them, delete them, and then paste them in the new location. This is the method which I have been employing thus far.  It absolutely does work.  However, having an option like I described would take a bit of load off the GM when these events occur.  It's not always true that all character tokens take the stairs to another floor or walk into the teleportation portal (at least in the campaign's I've been running).  Having to copy/delete individual tokens, then scrolling around to find the area on the map where I've designated the tokens should emerge and pasting them back can be a little tedious when you have 5 or 6 characters to move around at different times.  My ideal implementation of the recommendation would allow the players to move their own token on the telepad, which may in fact be a stair case as Terratani described, and the player token would appear on the linked telepad on the same map with the players focus moved to where their token emerged.  In this manner, the GM is freed from having to copy and paste, and the players would get a cool experience.
It would also be a lot less clunky for situations where you're in a combat and you're change in location leaves you on a different level of the map mid-combat. Or maybe you triggered a pit trap, and fall into the basement. It's icing on the cake but it makes things easier for all involved.
This may be possible down the road as a plug-in once the API has matured. Though it'll likely be a Supporter only feature, but don't take my word on that. I'm just a user, not a dev.
on a similar note, a command or button to focus your screen on your character would be good at well. I often have to wait five minutes for my players to catch up to their icons, there is always one that can't find the wee little things. so teleport and centre would both make a welcome addition in my view.

Michael, I just wanted to check, are you aware of Shift+Ping (*Shift+Hold down left mouse button)? I believe it is the command you are looking for.  - Gauss
