[LFP][Conan: Age Undreamed Of][Free][Saturday, February 5th] -- Game Day! The Pit of Kutallu

Game Day With  Conan: An Age Undreamed Of! Date:  February, February 5th Start Time:  9:00 AM PST / 5:00 PM GMT Duration:  5 hours, +1 hour optional buffer, if needed to finish. Voice:  Voice will be run on Discord Everything Else:  Roll20 is used for everything else: character sheets, maps, handouts, music, and sound effects Your world has grown dark and fetid as you wallow in your own filth. Heavy manacles bind you to people on either side of you while your feet are chained to a ring embedded in the creaking ship’s hull. There’s not enough room to stand nor to lay down and your muscles ache. You rock to the rolling of the ship in heavy seas. Consigned to darkness, time has little meaning. Every now and then, in what seems like forever, hatches are opened above to lower down buckets of slop and water. The light stabs your eyes but you fight for your portion. Fortunately one of the men next to you is dead so he won’t need any. Eventually there will be a stop. Slavers will descend to castigate you all with whips, while the dead are taken away. You hear the splashes as their bodies are thrown overboard. New slaves are brought below to take their place. Some are captives from war, while others were tricked by tainted drink, only to find themselves waking up to this horror. At first they cry out and weep for their fate calling out to their gods to save them. But here, even the gods cannot see you. Or if they do, they do not care. You’ve been consigned to this hell for you cannot remember how long. Days, weeks, time has no meaning here. And when you finally reach your destination, assuming you have not already found the freedom of death, your fate will be likely short and brutal, to live the life of a slave, chattel for masters who only care what you can do for them, and who will keep you only as long as you are useful. One night all that changes. The seas are rough and heavy. You hear shouting from above. You hear fear in their voices. There’s a rough shudder and the furious sound of cracking timbers and the ship comes to rest at a slight angle. You have no idea what is happening except that water is washing over your feet and that the rolling has stopped, though the sounds of waves crashing is louder than it was before. There’s a light, a single lantern. The woman carrying it comes up to you, casting light over your face, where you can see her as much as she sees you. Her dress is as fine as her painted features and she smells of myrrh. You wonder who she might be but then notice the worn chaffed skin around her wrist — another captive, but perhaps one treated better than you have been. She offers you a whispered bargain. The ship has run aground. Help her escape and return to her home, Aquilonia, and she will reward you handsomely. When you agree, she reaches into her robe and produces a chain of iron keys, which she passes to you to free yourself and the others. She tells you all to hurry as there’s not much time, a fact already apparent from the water that is a full foot deeper than it had been just a moment ago. This is a game of action and adventure in the world of Robert E. Howard’s Conan tales. It is a dynamic fantasy game that encourages creative thinking, initiative, and a unique system that fosters team cooperation and strategy. It has very different mechanics than most people are used to from a fantasy game. Combat in this game is epic and visceral. But the setting is a world of wonder, of vast and varied lands and kingdoms built upon the bones of ancient empires so old that they would be only whispers and tales were it not for the eerie haunted ruins scattered across the known lands. Will your accomplishments be such that the sands of time wash over them, or will you carve your name into stony columns for generations to come to marvel at your deeds? Your fate and fortune are once again in your hands, if only you have the strength to grip what fortune has brought you.  These are the days of high adventure! We’ll be running through the basic rules and character sheet at the start of session, and then, well, the rest is up to you. But don’t expect your gods to save you. This is Hyboria. This is  j ust an easy-going game day to have some fun and socialize.  We'll be using the module The Pit of Kutallu . This will be a learning experience, as this is my first time running the 2d20 system.  As always for my games, the primary rules for interaction are courtesy, patience, acceptance, tolerance, and having respect for everyone. Newbies are welcome. Games are always free. Having or knowing the rules is never required. And for " one-off"  social games like this, characters will be provided. All you need to do is show up, ready to have some fun. PM me if interested.
We've had a last-minute cancellation; so there's ONE spot open for tomorrow's game. PM me if interested.
