MY SPELLS!! Spell card bug.

I was setting things up for my weekly game, as DM's do, and was testing out my NPC's spells. I noticed a weird bug where it only shows the range of the spell, and sometimes the name. I tried various spells with different sheets, in different games of mine, and asked another DM to test it in there game. They are getting the same results as I with the spells.I tried re-draging the spells onto the sheet, and got the same result. Where I noticed it Second game I tested it Friend checking in their game for me with the same bug

What sheet are you using? Different sheets use different attributes and have different roll templates. And how are you triggering the spell, through a custom macro or using the built-in button on the sheet?

I'm using roll20's standard D&D Sheet. All I'm doing is going to the spell page and Clicking on the name. If the spell has a roll such as healing or damage it rolls. And if I using the speech bubble for the spell description it works fine. It's only when you Click on the name of the spell itself in the spell page. It's a minor bug.

Two things spring to mind. If this is only on certain sheets, make sure you don't have any duplicate sheets with the same name. Also, it could be a corrupted Chat Archive. A game's Creator is often able to fix issues with their Text Chat by  clearing the Chat Archive  (note: not  clearing your current Chat Log ). A GM might want to copy/back up the Chat Archive before the Creator clears it.
I cleared the Chat log and then created a new sheet to eliminated those variables. Still getting the same result.
Its hitting my game too, i use the standard 5.e Sheet, i think the problem is with roll20
For what it's worth... It's happening in my game as well, but not to everyone. Our wiz and bard have this issue, while our sorcerer is fine.

I have asked some other DM's to test the issue and get the same bugged result. One is a Plus and the other is a free user and both are getting the same result.

Hm. I can confirm. Something is definitely borked. I'd suggest a  Help Center Request , and I'll do what I can to call attention to this.
Having the same problem. So far 2 other people I asked have the problem, and 1 does not. Even tried making a brand new game and no luck.

For those with the problem (I am one), the best workaround would probably be to use the word ballon button to send the spell text to chat. You won't get auto slot reduction (assuming you have that set up), but it will at least allow play until this gets fixed. I can't imagine it will be very long.

Hey everyone! We are looking into this now to get it sorted-- Apologies for the trouble in the mean time. We will let you know as soon as we have more information on a fix. UPDATE: The issue should now be fixed. The fix should also be retroactive to previous spells in the chatlog. Simply refresh and everything should appear as expected. If you continue to have issues, please contact us at Roll20.net/help
