What This will be a fairly open ended game run in a custom setting. I will not be the only story teller. If I do that, and push the players along a story I have crafted, then what comes out will be primarily my creation. By custom setting, I do not mean custom rules, just the setting. I will be using the Ultimate Campaign book to supplement the campaign. Knowledge of that book not needed. When Games will be weekly, at time posted in tittle. Time and day negotiable with the following in mind: I work evenings, and don't have the same days every week, so I would need to run something like this before I go to work (or if it really just works better for everyone else, after work). I am in Mountain time zone (GMT -7). Who I am looking for: -Like minded players who want to be part of crafting the story. Players who can get into their in game character and try to live in the setting. -Looking for players who are able to mingle and communicate respectfully. -Punctuality. If you are not in control of your own schedule, please don't make promises or commitments you can't keep. If you've said you'll be able to attend a given schedule, it's not your boss's fault or your mommy's fault for making other plans for you, it's your fault for neglecting those possibilities when committing to that schedule. -Some play-by-post between sessions. This will not be done for combat. -New players welcome -I am not in a big rush to set this up, and will choose players that seem like a good fit to me after chatting with them a bit. -We will be using either Skype or Google+ for voice chat. ***My own experience as GM is limited, but I do enjoy the experience, especially when I can be very creative with it. What I don't want I have met people who claim they always end up being "the face" of the party, and they do so reluctantly, but take on the burden because nobody else wants to talk very much. In game they show they are actually very talkative, constantly talk over others, and never seem to stop talking. They are the face because they drown out everyone else's voice. I have met players who are very verbally aggressive and constantly mock other players, but also are the first to complain when someone else makes a comment or takes an action that can be even vaguely considered to be disrespectful to them. As GM, I owe it to the other, well behaved and respectful players to remove people of toxic nature as quickly as possible. I'm not your therapist, and don't owe you the time to work through your problems. Tolerating your intolerance comes at the expense of the other players' having a good time, and I won't ask that of them. I will boot you, I will block you, I will blacklist you, and the rest of us will go on with enjoying life. More about the setting Orona is a post-post-apocalyptic continent. A millennium ago, its divine blooded rulers attempted a grand ritual that would have seen them ascend to godhood. No one knows what, but something went horribly wrong. Disaster on a grand scale - many many millions died, and darker things crept into the land. Civilization as a whole collapsed, though small pockets may still exist. Veda, an island kingdom to the West, survived the great collapse. Though not unscathed by the loss of trade and isolation caused by Great Collapse, in the thousand years since they have thrived. Proud of their culture and of their land, the Vedans have come to embrace their isolation. While a small minority want to discover what treasure, mysteries, and knowledge lay hidden on Orona, the vastly prevailing attitude is still to stay content with the prosperity and stability of Veda itself. Still, enough adventurous minds exist that a small colony has been established in Prosper Bay. Campaign will utilize Ultimate Campaign sourcebook: http://paizo.com/products/btpy8x64?Pathfinder-Roleplaying-Game-Ultimate-Campaign and a custom world which I am slowly working on, piece by piece: MAP This means the characters will be busier in town than in your typical campaign, much of which will be handled via posts between game sessions. If you don't post or respond to posts, your character will miss out on these great down time experiences. Characters Stats will be rolled in game, placed in the order they are rolled. You will then build a character from those stats. Players will begin with level 1 characters (no gunslingers, 3rd party stuff with approval, non-humans are very rare, but not unheard of) whose enterprising spirit will set their own course and help write their own story, as well as the future of the colonies and possibly have great influence on Veda as well. Will you focus on locating valuable resources? fighting bandits? clearing monster lairs? hunt for ancient relics whose secrets could change the course of civilization? or get involved in your communities on a more local level? Also recommend you check out Advanced Classes: (free PDF with 10 classes that are basically multiclasses turned into a single class) http://paizo.com/products/btpy92zi?Pathfinder-Roleplaying-Game-Advanced-Class-Guide-Playtes Players will possibly have multiple characters as the campaign progresses. For this to happen, the main characters will have to set up a base of operations somewhere, and then we will discuss together how the mechanics of having multiple characters will work.
Sounds awesome. Could do later in the evenings on Mon, Tues, Wed. Might be about to get another player as well.
Hello names Jose and after reading your post I have become very interested in seeing how all this plays out. I personally have no experience in the table top world but if you would let me I would love to watch and learn from your group that you will eventually form . Please and thank you.
Just to clarify: I said I work evenings, and that if daytime hours don't work then we could possibly run the game after work, I'm talking about after 2330 Mountain time. So that's not really "evenings" when I'd be able to run the game, but late night or early morning. Ideally though I'm hoping for a group that could do late mornings as posted in the title.
That's fine....about time I get home as well at night.
This game sounds really cool and I would be interested in joining. I am fairly new to table top RPGs, I played some 3.5 but it has been a few years.
this sounds interesting, if you have room for me I'm down.
Myself and a friend of mine (also posting) would love to join your game! This campaign sounds perfect for us. We are also Mountain time, and available at the same times you are. We are very punctual, and can relate to the frustration when others are not. We have been playing "Rise of the Runelords," and really enjoying it. We are easy to get along with, don't criticize other players, and are always respectful. Your game universe also sounds amazing, and we are totally on board with the rolling for stats and making a character out of it. Basically your game sounds perfect for us.
Hi I am that friend of Luke.G. and when I saw your post i couldn't have been happier. In the Rise of the Runelords campaign we are playing we insisted on rolling stats and making characters out of it because we love the air of randomness about it. I'm all about punctuality and you'll never see me late. I normally have work from around 4:30pm to 9:30pm mountain time so all of your times for play are perfect for me(of course i do have days off where I can play at any time). I don't know what else to say since Luke pretty much covered it all. Hope to hear from you since we are very interested.
Have sent out some messages. I'm taking my time, and want to chat with interested players. I want to be more careful than I have in the past in forming a group that will get along and make this go smoothly.
Totally understandable
Very experienced gamer here curious what day this.would start. Week few weeks long as it.takes that sort of thing
As for day, Sunday late morning is sounding plausible, but also Mon-Wed late morning (as times posted in title) sessions are still on the table.
I would love to play in this campaign if you are still looking for players. I have a very flexible Time frame for Session due to my new job so I can be available when we decide to play.

Hi. I'm from Europe, 10 am MST is 6 pm for me, perfect for a game (I could also start 2-3 hours later but not much after, since the game would run too late then for me). I'm available Monday, Tuesday and Friday at those times (weekends i'm not) I have to admit I'm a bit worried about the character creation, especially the rolling in order. Still it could be interesting. I've been playing PF for years now, GM my own game as well, but playing is fun too for a change again. my Skype name is khales.aoc, feel free to contact me.
