Interest Check: Anima Beyond Fantasy

As the title implies I’m interested to see how many people would be interested in playing/running an Anima Beyond Fantasy game.  If you’re unfamiliar with the system, it’s an over-the-top anime RPG with dark fantasy tones and themes.   If you are interested feel free to reply with your level of experience with the system as well as any other information you’d like to share.

Interested? Certainly. Knowledge of system? Read the rules played one shot or two. But its been ages. But if you plan to host a game that will last longer than session or two. I will certainly be interested, depending on time and day.

I love anime games. Never played Anima though. May I ask how dark will this game be?

If I did decide to run a game I don’t usually have extremely dark or edgy things happen, unless they players seek it out or do it themselves.  Being eaten by dangerous monsters is a possibly, however. I didn’t have a specific time in mind as I was mainly trying to see how much interest for an Anima game there was.  A few other times I’ve had groups up they are inundated by people asking to play DND instead.

Yeah worry not. I am not gonna ask for DnD as I pretty much dislike DnD 5e :)

Hey there! I would love to try and play. I've known anime for ages, but never got the chance to play. I know a little about the lore of Gaia. I have experience with D&D 5e, and Pathfinder 1e and 2e, so trying a new system would be nice.

I don’t think DnD is the worst game ever or anything, but I find that the system doesn’t allow for many interesting things to happen or create the kind of experience I want in a roleplaying game. If I ran a game of Anima it wouldn’t be in the default setting of Gaia because, while it’s not awful and I’ve enjoyed playing in it before, there are multiple issues I have with the setting.  I’ve been working on my own stuff for years now and while it isn’t perfect I prefer my own stuff to the setting of Gaia.

Tossing my hat into the "interested" ring. I've tried Anima a few times but never had a game "stick" for more than a few sessions.

I am also interested, unfortunately I have only played in a one shot but I am eager to try a longer campaign.

Well since it doesn’t seem like anyone is rushing to run a game, my only times where I could run would be Sunday and Friday evenings 7ish pm EST.
