How do I restore overwritten handouts?

I used to run my Curse of Strahd game in 2 languages. 2 weeks ago my English player dropped out, for what I assumed at the time forever. So I stupidly translated some of the handouts(about 2 chapters worth) to the language the rest of the players speak without leaving a copy of the original. I basically highlighted each sentence and wrote the translation. Now he came back, is there a way I can restore the handouts?

You could create a new game using that module, and then use the transmogrifier to bring in fresh copies of the handouts. The real question is if this will overwrite your translations.  I'm guessing that it will.  When a handout is created it is given an ID.  I don't think changing the name changes the alphanumeric ID.  However if you edit a handout and "copy" the handout, it will create a version with a new ID.  So, if you use the transmogrifier to bring in the original handouts and it warns you that it is going to overwrite something, you may want to make copies of your translated handouts if you don't want to have to do the translations all over again.

I’ll try that. I already copied my translated handout to a separate file for future reference anyway
