Let me start off by getting to the specifics; I am looking to run a game using the 5e Rule Set with some technological advancements thrown in. The majority of the setting is your standard 5e DnD Fantasy with the usual races and classes, however the twist is that rather than the players being the actual adventurers, there is a new technology that works off of Augmented Reality and could be comparable to something like .hack//, Persona, Sword Art Online, etc.. More specifics will be listed below and questions are welcome! I currently only have slots open for 1-2 players! Requirements: A Microphone, A Discord Account, Free Time from 5 P.M.-9P.M. PST every Sunday. (Some exceptions will obviously apply) The Time Frame: As this is using the classic fantasy setting combined with technology, I want to clarify the exact state of technology in the world. There are currently things such as phones, however much of the technology is more akin to Steam than modern day. However, technology across the entire world has been given a massive jump start through the advent of technology from beyond the Star itself, or so it seems. It allows cities to produce near infinite power, project enormous protective domes and, for the extremely wealth or military, able to augment armor and weapons to enhance them even further. The World: The world of Elaron has enjoyed much prosperity over the recent years, the advent of massive shield generators and technology that seems from beyond the stars, the entire planet has become vastly safer than it once was. Bandit and creature attacks are all but non-existent, the races of the star have begun to harmonize with each other, though there is still the occasional tussle and disagreement here or there. With the technological advances that have gripped the world cities have become ever the safer option when picking where to live, with giant domes erected around most of the major cities and even a fair handful of the outlier cities. While each country handles their matters differently, overall peace has become the norm. Patrols of armed milita protect most streets between cities, and with the technology came significant enhancements to weapons and armor if one had the money for such expensive equipment, though it seems mostly restricted to the militaries either way. Little is known about where this technology came from, and admittedly very few care to ask. Our story starts in the city of Lauzoo, a veritable and sprawling metropolis known for its gorgeous palace and enormous amount of trade routes. Positioned in one of the best economic hot spots of the world, most if not all trade routes must come near or through the city. This alone has caused the city to know almost nothing but prosperity, but since the advent of this new technology the cities growth has began to grow exponentially without any seeming end. Recently, there was a new line of Augmented Reality Headsets released, claiming to allow users to experience the heroic deeds of the past for themselves, with no true risk of bodily harm! Though there was plenty of attention, there was equal amounts speculation on the device While the device is only about to be sent out for its B.E.T.A. users, those that were chosen were chosen at random according to the Head of Production, Thymos, a Tiefling Engineer. You have all been chosen as B.E.T.A. testers for the C.A.D., and will be receiving the device Free of Charge! All you need to do is wear it, use it, and provide feedback! Lauzoo Lauzoo serves as the worlds central hub for commerce, enabling a safe and organized commerce on all scales between almost all nations of the world. Ruled by an Magocracy, power shared between five Rulers of the city, which itself is separated into five different sections. The five outer rings are known as; Fort Qion, Ruled by Raek Korazion the Human, The Guclec District, Ruled by Vance Kehsi the Gnome, South Lulolgent, Ruled by Mavena Orthur the Shifter, North Wrimp Square, Ruled by Duk the Aarakocra, and the Chasm Center, Ruled by Skarlax Gorgandr the Dragonborn. As the commerce capitol of the world, Lauzoo accepts all forms of currency. From Gold, to Platinum, to Buttons, it seems all currency here is a valid form of exchange... for most. There are a small group, roughly 15% of the total commercial business, that refuse to take anything other than currency such as Copper, Silver, Gold, Platinum, or other well established currencies that hold significant weight for their rarity. As a result of this, the city has developed its own currency that may be used instead to ensure ones currency is not turned away while attempting to purchase anything within the city limits. These machines are readily available throughout the entire city and thankfully come with no extra charge, however as this is a city-specific trait, this currency is only valid within city limits.
