Hi my name is Nick, I have about 3 years of experience with 5e, although I just started doing again after a few years of not playing. I have made 5 or 6 characters that have made it into games, and have 4 or 5 characters on the back burner just written up for fun. What was a curveball a DM threw at your character that made you explore a new facet of your role play? My character hailed from a far off desert kingdom, I had my backstory fleshed out to my characters personal story, but I hadn't designed the country or anything like that. In the first part of the session we unexpectedly sailed to said far off kingdom, and then the dm asked me to guide the players around points of interest and describe the city we landed at in detail. I was not prepared at all for that kind of world building as a player and had to come up with the setting on the fly, describing it with the familiarity of the character who spent the early part of his life there. Barring the unexpected I should be perfectly available for this time, I am in EST so for me that is 6pm, I get off of work at 5 on a late day :) A commitment of a year or 2 is exactly what I'm hoping to find in a dnd game, if I end up joining it would be a truly heart wrenching thing for life to pull me away. The bards hair color was golden, we were served by a Hrothgar, and the tavern was called the dragons beard Cookie cutter combat is not my go to, I love to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions to problems. Dnd is not Skyrim where I'm just walking forward slashing a sword, it's a flexible system where there are many ways to go about achieving your goals in fun ways and that's something I love about it. No characters at this time as you will need a big dose of lore from my world in order to design your character. What is your Discord tag so i can contact you. @lif#9502
