
Welcome to the Water Ring world, where the fishing is everything! There is no wars no evils or goods only fishers who is trying to be the best! Take your rod start fishing if you are lucky buy a boat and go on the sea discover new spots and catch bigger fishes and become a legend. What is this game? Water Ring is my homebrew game with 5e where all of the players are fishers. In this world fishing is everything and you will be fishing all the time. You will start as a small fishing guild who try to be the best in the region or maybe world! You will get your new gears rods boats maybe ships and travel in this unknown world of seas and catch bigger things. Maybe one day you can catch a kraken or a sea dragon to show the world your guild is the best! So no adventures or fighting? Well I can`t say that every fishing is new adventure and in this world fish is strong and you need to kill them after catch. The world economy based on fish materials which are magical and strong. There is no mines in the world if you want to get mine you need to catch iron turtles or if you want some silk for tailors you need to catch silk fish. Almost everything comes from the sea and fishers are the gatherers of the world. How does fishing work? So mechanic is working little different first of all there is lots of different fishing spots and secondly rods are your weapons. With more stronger rods you can catch more stronger fishes. Or nets or big traps. Let put an example Lvl 1 fighter try to catch some Golden Trout which is good for making healing potions. He has a normal rod without bonus. First he will put his rod with fishing skill if he beat the dc of 15 which is enough for catching golden trout at right place the fish will be hooked. After that the fight start twe will roll initiative. The fighter got 8 and Golden Trout got 14. First golden trout goes he will attack the rod to try to escape. In here he is actually attacking fighter ac which is 14, it roll 16 and hit the fighter it roll 1d6 dmg and get 3. Fighter take 3 damage. Now fighter turn he attacked and hit the trout and this goes like this. At the end if the trout win trout will be running away and if the fighter win he will catch it. As a party if someone hook a fish everybody can attack the fish with their rods so that way it will be easier to catch fish. Imagine you catch a Mithril Shark all the party members help needed. So the mechanic basically like this. You will buy ships, new items maybe find magical rods on your journey. What is the point of the game and story? There is none. This is open world fishing game maybe as a party you want to be the best fishing guild in the world or maybe you only want to catch mystical fishes it is up to you.
