A scorching desert filled with horrors unimaginable, dead walking the sands, people without souls worshipping false idols and worst of all is the terrible thirst that can never truly be quenched in this land. All of these sound like the ramblings of a person gone mad, and most who return truly are. Are you brave enough to try your luck within this domain?
The sands of time bury the desert realm of Har’Akir. Here, the wonders of fallen empires and pyramids of forgotten pharaohs crumble beneath a merciless sun. Untold generations of tombs and secrets lie beneath the sands, markers of a history the land’s few residents know of only in story and song. Their interest in past splendor is smothered, as life is harsh in Har’Akir and the living exist only to serve a deathless god-king.
This realm of fierce deserts and mysterious monuments is ruled by the mummy Ankhtepot, speaker for the gods and immortal pharaoh. From his golden pyramid in the City of the Dead, the Darklord watches over his domain, careless of the Passage of mortal lives. In hidden tomb-courts, withered, animal-headed elder mummies known as the Children of Ankhtepot luxuriate as emissaries of false gods. And in the mud brick city of Muhar, the priests of morbid gods oversee all aspects of life, apportioning food and Blessings to the worthy and punishing blasphemers. But all the pharaoh’s servants also pursue his quest to find his mysterious lost treasure, and are ever desperate for some clue or news to placate Ankhtepot and spare them from the storms of his wrath and his buried legions of the ancient dead.
Welcome to Har'Akir, one of many Domains of Dread within the Ravenloft campaign setting. This will be a Survival/Horror game where you deal with natural and unnatural phenomena within. But generally, I love working with players for backstories and tying those into the actual game as well as working to create a game my players want to play. I am also very accustomed to new or veteran players. I do have a pro subscription to Roll20 so that I can make the maps pretty with dynamic lighting and use music/audio from within as well as the use of all of the books I have available on the platform. I make maps through Inkarnate with my subscription there as well, so expect maps for many occasions, not just combat. Rate $20 per session with session zero being free. Plan for a 3-4 hour session using Roll20 and Discord. Voice is necessary and Video is optional for players. We will go over any house rules, character creation and everything else during the session zero. This should be a comfortable and fun time for everyone and I will not tolerate racism or sexism or really any bigotry.
