Call of Cthulhu: Shadows of the Heartland

Omaha – back in the 1800s it was known as the “Gateway to the West” as settlers pushed ever westward into Native American territory. Violence and corruption waxed and waned throughout the city's long history, feeding an unseen darkness... Millennial cults rose and faded away; Y2K and 2012 came and went... All the while, the Great Old Ones, the Outer Gods, and their manifold servitors waited and watched... Now the shadows grow long across the land; the days grow shorter and soon darkness will fall unless a brave few place their faith, their sanity, their very lives on the line. Will you step forward and brave the shadows? Shadows of the Heartland is a modern Call of Cthulhu campaign based in Omaha which I'm going to be running online on a monthly basis via Roll20 starting at 7 pm this Saturday night (8/9/2014). The PCs are student and faculty members of the underfunded and little-respected UNO Paranormal Research Department as well as other unsuspecting members of society swept up in the investigations. I plan to start the campaign in August and we'll be using the 5th and 5.6 editions of the game; players should have at least two characters as the game will be somewhat of a troupe-style game (as well as being dangerous, if not lethal to characters' mental and physical well-being). If you have access to Delta Green, the 1990s Handbook (or Cthulhu Now), and the monographs "Mystic Alliances" and "The Parapsychologist's Handbook", all the better.
I am interested in this. Questions: 1. Do you require a microphone to participate? 2. What is the age range you're looking for? 3. When you say "7 pm this Saturday", at what timezone is this 7 pm taking place? 4. How much of a say would players have about character and setting details? for instance, if I don't like playing in The Now, preferring to play in the 1990s or an even earlier decade - would that be open to consideration or are the details set and the year necessary to be post-2012?
1) No, a microphone would not be needed. It's going to be chat-only. 2) I'm putting a minimum age of 18 on the game. There's going to be some mature content, but it's also going to have a bit of spirit in the vein of "Angel" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". 3) Central Standard Time 4) I'm pretty well set in post 2012 Omaha. I want to keep it as fairly recent as possible. That being said, we'll probably start off with a mini-scenario "flashback" set at least 10 years prior. Thanks for your interest! Dale
How did it go? I might be interested so shoot me a PM. Thanks.
