Token changes/updates won't save

Hey folks! Video for reference: https://share.getcloudapp.com/8LuDyKZO I'm using the Lost Mine of Phandelver Module. Started up a game last night and am in the process of switching out the base tokens for my players' created tokens/characters. When I switched those out, I lost stats such as the HP and AC, and whenever I input them in and bring in a new token, the existing information is not retained. I'm running another LMoP game and not having the same issue at all. What did I do wrong?

Hi Nick! Can you describe, step by step what you are doing when you "switch out" the tokens? The order of operations can be important in avoiding unexpected results.

Absolutely, Keith! 1. Add token to board for "Wizard" from the module 2. Add my custom created token by uploading it to the board 3. Click on my custom token 4. Open up "Wizard" from Journal 5. Click "Edit" 6. Remove default token 7. Click on Use Selected Token 8. Hit Save Changes

Yup, you're missing a couple of steps. When you save a default token, you are not just saving the image, but everything about the setup: bar assignments and so forth. You need to completely set up a new default token from scratch and then save it as default. If you just take an unassigned raw image and set it as the default token, you are basically telling your character journal that the default token for the character is an unassigned raw image. At the pro level, there is an API script that makes this very simple. Otherwise, it requires setting up the entire token. Here are some guides to get you oriented: Here is the wiki article on Linking Tokens to Journals Here is a video which demonstrates the procedure
