LFP for Pathfinder (3rd level PFS) - Friday's 6:30pm - 10:00 CST

This forum needs some order. Most of the posts here have too little information to be useful at first glance. What needs to be in your title: System - Pathfinder (PFS) Time - Friday 6:30 - 10:00pm (Central) Who - Looking for a couple of additional players to round out the group. Currently lacking in the area of arcane and divine casters. Party currently consists of fighter, rogue, and monk. Level - 3rd level is preferable but can obviously go up or down a bit without too much difficulty.

Hello Jason, I would love the opportunity to play in a Pathfinder game. I am a 22 year old male who has significant experience with the 3.5e system and is a bit new to the pathfinder system. I generally prefer RP to combat and I usually go out of my way to make characters interesting and compelling. I am the kind of player who RPs his stats and I avidly avoid metagaming at all costs. I would be very interested in playing the pathfinder Psion as they have looked very appealing to me for awhile now. If you aren't familiar with the system, I could explain it to you since it's actually pretty simple with the right explanation. I also have another friend who is superb at RP and is one of the best players I have ever had the pleasure of playing with. If you need another, I would be happy to ask him as well. Looking forward to hearing back from you! Edit: A bit about the character I would like to run. He is an Elan Psion with a chaotic neutral to chaotic good alignment who currently makes a living by smuggling magic items and other goods as well as offering his services as a messenger. He is of the Nomad discipline. I envision the character to have a bit of a criminal background, moreso for being a rulebreaker than being a bad person. Depending on psionics in your world, he can either be just another Psion, or because of his immortal age, simply be one of the last of his kind from a glorious empire in ages past, perhaps as a result of getting lost on the astral plane while traveling with a caravan or being trapped somewhere for several hundred years (since I can avoid needing to eat or drink by spending a powerpoint as an Elan).

Hey there, I'm also interested in playing in your Pathfinder game. I'm very familiar with the system and have both played and GMed for it several times. I am well versed in the Psionic rules and am hoping I could play a Vitalist - they're the Psionic equivalent of a Cleric, and are really good at supporting the party with healing and buffs. As Zerocaliber said Psionics is actually pretty simple and a Psion and a Vitalist can easily fill the role of Arcane and Divine characters in a group. I enjoy a mix of combat, exploration and social interaction but am open to most any style of game. I would like to know, though, if we are going to use a voice-chat client while we play or if this is going to be text-based, as I prefer the former. I, too, am looking forward to hearing from you soon! EDIT: Some more info on the character I'm considering playing: a Human or Elan Vitalist who grew up in the slums and who resorted to petty thievery to get by until latent psychic abilities manifested. I'd be a Soulthief, that means focusing on powers and abilities that drain health from enemies and give it to allies, and the Life Leech advanced option, which focuses on moving status effects from allies to enemies. This character would rely a lot on making enemies fail Will saves, so enemies immune to mind-affecting or without a Constitution score would be very problematic.
Guys, he's saying PFS. So psionics aren't going to be available. Nor Elan. You have confused this with 3.5 D&D, and not with stuff for organized play. Now if it weren't for the fact I have a Friday game for Mummy's Mask, I'd see what I could do. I'm guessing scenarios are the order of the day for this, given the PFS labeling.

Psionics Unleashed and Psionics Expanded are books published by Dreamscarred Press that provide Psionic rules for Pathfinder. I would know, I contributed (slightly) to the content of both books. EDIT: In addition since Psionics was OGL content in 3.5 you can find the rules for Psionics on the Pathfinder System Reference Document, feel free to take a look if you don't believe me. It's the last category on the left-most column.
Just to check, is this game going to be strictly following Pathfinder Society? If so, the options for characters are... somewhat more limiting than I'd prefer. Since Pathfinder Society doesn't seem to allow material produced by Dreamscarred Press, which frankly is my favorite Pathfinder content. If you could reply Jason that would be most helpful.
Sorry for the late reply. Busy day at the office and all... Yes, this is a Pathfinder Society (PFS) session so it follows strict PFS guidelines. Primarily to give us flexibility for adding and removing characters without disrupting the continuity of a campaign storyline. If you're not familiar with PFS it has some restrictions on what source material you can use. The idea being that you could sit down at any PFS session with your character and the GM can be reasonably assured that your player conforms to certain criteria and is "equivalent" to other characters of that level. If you're interested in a PFS game (as described above) let me know.
Ah, I read more about it. Well, in that case, I would be interested in giving the Summoner a shot.
Zerocaliber - If you can be saddled up and have your character ready by game time we'll give it a whirl. Shoot me your info. I've got an hour drive and then I'll be home. I'll send you the invite for the session. Any other takers?
So level 3, 20 point buy for attributes, no 3rd party content? I think I can manage that. I'll have to figure out what class I want to play, perhaps a Cleric or Sorcerer if we're in desperate need of casters.
That works.
Alright, my character is ready - I'm going with an Oracle. Could you send me a PM with the link to the game? Thanks.
I'd be interested in playing. I need to install Hero Lab again, but I should be able to make a character pretty quickly after that.
If you still need anybody, I have several eligible guys available.
