System : Infinity RPG by Modiphius Premise The players find themselves working as agents of O12's Bureau Noir with a simple objective; prevent all out war between O12's member states. Their mission is a simple one, but in the world of the Human Sphere many new hurdles stand in their way. Wormholes allow speedy transport across the stars and render the defense of distance and isolation moot. The quantronics revolution has changed how humanity interacts with the world as omnipresent augmented reality has seeped into all aspects of life. As if that wasn't enough, the discovery of Silk and creation of Cube technology has made life after death a possibility. To succeed as members of the covert Bureau Noir our agents will need to function on the triple battlefield of Warfare, Infowar, and Psywar while hunting for clues and protecting humanity from it's gravest threat: itself.  Campaign Info At this time we are playing a mission-based campaign with the players acting as Bureau Noir agents for O12. O12 can be thought of as the "United Nations" and Bureau Noir is it's version of the "CIA". We've completed Mission 1 and Mission 2, but one player had to take a break due to work. This felt like a good opportunity to recruit and when he comes back we'll be at 5 players which I consider a full group. The mission setup will make it easy to bring in a new character since you can be assigned to the team at the start of Mission 3. I've been running what I call "Intermission" sessions between missions where the players can pursue their own goals. They haven't done a whole lot with that yet, but we could have a week or two here before Mission 3 actually kicks off.  GM Experience I've been GMing on Roll20 for 9+ years. For this section I meant more "Experience with Infinity". The Infinity RPG uses the setting from the tabletop wargame by the same name. I'm not familiar with the wargame and hadn't heard of the setting before reading the RPG book. I've found it a good fit for my GM style and we've already gotten use out of the "Cubes" that allow characters to respawn (one agent died in Mission 1 but was brought back in a clone body). I felt this important to mention so that veterans of the system or setting are aware we are a group only familiar with what we've encountered so far during play. This means if you are also not familiar you may fit in better than you think and I can help catch you up.  Infinity RPG System Infinity uses Modiphius' 2d20 system. The basic mechanic is you roll 2d20 against a target number. Each d20 that is less than or equal to the target number is a Success. The difficulty of a roll is set by how many Successes you need to actually Pass that roll. The difficulty can be more than 2 which means you need to use the various mechanics to get more dice (enlist help from the team, do preparatory actions to build Momentum to buy more dice, etc) I can help you learn the system. By the standards of DnD5e I would consider this Complex. It has a lot going on but is helped by everything being built off one sub-system. It all boils down to the 2d20 roll. If you can describe what you want to do I can help you get there. Over time, with some effort, you should catch on to how it works.  Session Info Time : Weekly, Thursday nights, 7pm-10pm US Eastern.
