[LFP][Conan: Age Undreamed Of][Free][Saturday, April 16th] -- Game Day! Heretics of Tarantia

Game Day With  Conan: An Age Undreamed Of! Date:  Saturday, April 16th Start Time:  9:00 AM PDT / 4:00 PM GMT Duration:  5 hours, +1 hour optional buffer, if needed to finish. Voice:  Voice will be run on Discord Everything Else:  Roll20 is used for everything else: character sheets, maps, handouts, music, and sound effects How did it start? With a bit of coin in your purse, things were looking up for a change. But then you turned down the wrong street on the wrong night in the wrong city. That’s how it started. And now the heavy hand of fate has laid itself upon you, grasping you firmly. You are caught in a web not of your making, fighting to uncover the facts of what happened. You were there. You saw it. But you find that you can trust nothing and no one, perhaps not even your own eyes. “Conan and the Heretics of Tarantia is an adventure of a different breed. Rather than hunting through a plague-ridden jungle in search of a forgotten city or tracking a corrupt sorcerer to his demon-haunted layer, Heretics of Tarantia is a story of intrigue, treachery, politics and murder in the most glorious city of the West." "Players who are concerned that an intrigue-based scenario may not have the fevered pace and clashing of desperate sword blows so integral to the Conan stories need not worry – there is action aplenty for all within these pages. Heretics of Tarantia, however, exercises the strength of the Player Characters’ minds as much as it does their sword arms. Those Player Characters who attempt to solve all their problems with a furious war cry and a leap into the fray may find themselves out of their depth, as there are enemies within this scenario beyond the immediate reach of sword or bowshot. While such measures may indeed be called for here, those who recognise there are times when a carefully laid plan or a few questions asked of the right person, can be stronger allies than a thousand blades; those individuals must rely on cleverness, guile and intellect.” I want to emphasize again the quotation above pulled from the module for this Saturday's adventure. This is a thinking-person's adventure, not the typical combat-focused adventure that one often encounters in this system. It needs players who utilize their minds, who pay attention to details, who take notes, and who are good at observation and asking questions.  This is a game of action and adventure in the world of Robert E. Howard’s Conan tales. It is a dynamic fantasy game that encourages creative thinking, initiative, and a unique system that fosters team cooperation and strategy. It has very different mechanics than most people are used to from a fantasy game. Combat in this game is epic and visceral. But the setting is a world of wonder, of vast and varied lands and kingdoms built upon the bones of ancient empires so old that they would be only whispers and tales were it not for the eerie haunted ruins scattered across the known lands. Will your accomplishments be such that the sands of time wash over them, or will you carve your name into stony columns for generations to come to marvel at your deeds? Your fate and fortune are once again in your hands, if only you have the strength to grip what fortune has brought you.  These are the days of high adventure! We’ll be running through the basic rules and character sheet at the start of session, and then, well, the rest is up to you. But don’t expect your gods to save you. This is Hyboria. This is  j ust an easy-going game day to have some fun and socialize.  We'll be using the Mongoose Conan RPG module  Heretics of Tarantia.  adapted to Modiphius' 2d20 system. As always for my games, the primary rules for interaction are courtesy, patience, acceptance, tolerance, and having respect for everyone. Newbies are welcome. Games are always free. Having or knowing the rules is never required. And for " one-off"  social games like this, characters will be provided. All you need to do is show up, ready to have some fun. PM me if interested.
I'd love to join in this, actually been playing Conan since the beta and I've run the game for Modiphius at many conventions. It'd be amazing to finally be a player!
