Default DL as "explored" ?

I posted something here last night and now it's just gone? Like it was never posted? Got no notification or anything. Anyways I am still hoping to get feedback on how to do what I am wanting to do. I want the terrain to appear "explored" for my players without them needing to move their token into that "explored" area so they can see terrain, but still look like fog of war so any enemies in that area are concealed. edit: Also I spent probably 45 minutes looking through the forums and trying to google solutions and was unable to find anything.
Just replying so I know the post actually posts and that I didn't just... *not* post it somehow.
I may be misunderstanding the question, so please forgive me.  But why not have your enemies on the GM layer until it's time to reveal them?

Hi mudge002! Sorry the forums ate my post. :( Under the dynamic lighting tool is a feature called reveal Explorable Darkness. Make sure Explorer Mode is on for the page. You can use the tool to draw a rectangle over the areas you want players to "have seen".

I mean that works but it's not what I want. If the players get up to the higher evevation they just immediately see the enemies for free without further input. Does that make sense? keithcurtis said: Hi mudge002! Sorry the forums ate your post. :( Under the dynamic lighting tool is a feature called reveal Explorable Darkness. Then again I only recently found out that Control+L doesn't actually work, so that might be why.

What problems are you having with Control-L? Did the token in question have sight and a light source? I tested just before I posted to make sure the feature was working as intended.
