Black Crusade interest check

I've tried off and on without much success for a game to remain viable. So I am going back to one of my favorites which is Black Crusade. As of right now I plan on playing on Saturdays in the late afternoon/early evening. On the savage world of Sovereign is a weapon system from the Dark Age of Technology when Mankind was at its height. It has taken out Xenos, Heretic and Imperial ships after dragging them out of the warp even across the galaxy. Few realize it until their auspex locks detect the weapon system moments before it fires. It is to this world that the wreck and tomb of a great heretic simply known as Is Ulv had tamed. Little is known of this Heretic as the Imperium brutally stamped out any reference to this once great Space Wolf Captain. Their ship was able to barely make it down to the surface, but before they can escape it they must claim the weapon system for themselves, unite the hordes and war engines to their banner. Doing so will cement their dark infamy to allow them to lead this Crusade into the Expanse and beyond.
This is interesting, I'd have to know when games would be(Timezones), but certainly very interesting
I am on the East Coast (GMT -4). I have all 4 tomes so I can take the game past Ascension as well assuming they survive that long.

I could only make that if it was 2pm/3pm your time, Unfortunately.
That is doable actually.
I'll likely play a Plague Marine. Yay Nurgle
Heh Nurgle is my least favorite :P But yay interest already!
I'm definitely game for this. I like the idea of a super weapon as the goal.
Hi, I'm definitely interested! Never played BC before, but I have some experience in DH in RT and solid knowledge of the 40k universe. I'm situated in Europe (GMT+1), but my schedule on weekends is quite flexible.
It isn't a primitive weapon like the Imperium uses of cyclonic missiles to kill worlds or in simple savagery of the Life Eater virus. More refined and more powerful than any lance system. It is capable of cutting an Imperial Battleship in half with a single volley. Eldar shimmer shields are no effect against it. It knows no friend only foe. No one knows what causes the weapon system to trigger as it does or what causes it to lock onto a ship. It just does and once that happens there is no hope to survive. In all of its recorded history only one ship had survived its first shot, no records speak of what happened after that. And I rarely get to see games in which gives the players anything of value or interest. A super weapon from the Dark Age seems fitting and something that would want to be claimed. Also gives the PCs things to conquer on their way to the final objective.
I don't mind if everyone remains Astartes or a Heretic. Just be mindful of loyalties and rivalries between gods. So long has the Plague Marine isn't always trying to kill the Thousand Son. Or Berserker trying to kill the Noise Marine I'm okay with it :) If a Heretic is played just be mindful that there may be a bit of hate involved or arrogance, unless we establish in the story how the warband has been working together.

I've decided I'll definately be playing a Xurunt Frost father.

Giant Lizards. Yay.
Edit: Also I tend to like epic feeling games as well. And they are the stars of the show. Eventually they will receive daemon weapons and other items of renown as their Infamy across the world increases. Infamy needed to ascend will be 90, just as I give them rewards they are expected to do great things and maintain that reputation through out. There will be a chance for them to fail and become spawn or will they become as gods? Up to the Four to decide that fate.
By the way: How combat-focussed is the game going to be? I prefer playing as a character focussed on non-combat situations, but it'd be good to know if and how much I should deviate from my standards for this particular game. Apart from that, will we be using text or voice for communication?
I've been thirsting for Black Crusade. 2 questions: 1. Is this going to be text-based or will you require a mic/voice to play? 2. What is the age range of the group?
I would like to play some BC. Play as a human Slaanesh worshiper. A Flesh Shaper of Melancholia would be my first pick from the expansion book Tome of Excess. I have to wait a bit to make sure this done not conflict with my Dark Heresy 2 game but I would love to do both games if they do not conflict.
I'll be interested.. if I can get we can on sundays.. as what I would play I have no idea.. I don't a single bc book, and my lore knowledge is about 2/5 on 40k.. If you don't mind a complete noob
I am interested but I really need to know when it is so it doesn't clash with my other games.
I'm Interested in playing Black Crusade. My knowledge of 40k universe is not much but I've played Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader. Interested in playing tzeentch or nurgle aligned character, but I don't have tome of excess yet. However, time of day would be my biggest obstacle since I'm in Australia (GMT+10) I would love to join the game if the time is suitable.
Really interested. I've played a game of BC before, and GM'ed one. I know 40k lore rather well, and enjoy playing chaos a lot. My archetype of choice would be a Word Bearer Dark Apostle. But I can fill other roles too. And starting 2/3 PM your time would be perfect for me, if we are talking about a "standard" 4 hour session. 2 PM is preferable.

Sorry, not interested in a text only game.

I might be interested in playing depending on the time and day. I've always been interested in the 40k RPGs but I've never really got a chance to get my feet wet even. If I were to play I'm not sure what kind of character I would play but I'm leaning towards Heretek, Warpsmith, or another tech based class. That or something like a Khornate Berserker just to have fun.

That works for me. I'd have to go for 10-20 minutes about 3 hours in to eat but other than that unless my schedule changes I could make that

Good time for me as well.
I can not say yes to 2 pm. I am still waiting on the Dark Heresy 2 group to pick up a time. I am betting they will go on a Friday. Hopefully both games will not over lap. I would hate having to pick on game over the other. Also 2 PM eastern time right?
2 pm Eastern Standard Time, yes.
What level of starting experience are we working with? Since a lot of people have mentioned the more powerful advanced careers, will someone who chooses one of the base careers get the extra XP to make them equivalent as listed in the other books? This bit? http://puu.sh/aOk4u/0ba15f9ff4.png I don't think I want to do anything too fancy, but I'd hate to be too weak to do anything.
Now when you say text only. You are just meaning like no maps. Just us chatting to each other on voice or typing in role 20?
I will have maps and other in game props just I don't have a mic has my home is very noisy and things are happening so I find text to be the easiest medium for me.
ok. Well my spelling and grammer is not the best. Just warning. I prefer to use mic because of my physical problems makes typing a real draw back.

Can't wait to hear more about the game :-)

I can read just fine but I would prefer to us a mic as it would be less painful for me. Which I hope that is not a problem.
Hi can a Night Lord join this obvious suicide mission and bring some fear to the galaxy.
Hanako you could use Skype and not use your mic and just type problem solved.
O'Neill said: Hanako you could use Skype and not use your mic and just type problem solved. That is if we can all get a stable connection with skype. Skype is not the most stable of programs.
I would be interested in playing this. I played a machiavellian Tzeentch psyker in a previous (all heretic) black crusade campaign, and would be interested in reprising a similar role.
Sorry in the delay in responding things got a little hectic for me. I do have skype but no idea how to disable those features.
The easiest way to not use voice is to not have a microphone plugged in or mute yourself when the call starts. Other than that you could go in your sound settings and disable your microphone until you enable it.again. Also if you have no microphone I'm pretty sure you can still make and join calls you'll just have no sound coming from you.
I'd personally prefer just text for the most part. I will create the game sometime tomorrow and send out the invites to those who want it so we can discuss it then.
I'd be interested in playing as well, I have most of the books and a solid WH40K knowledge. Not sure yet what I'd like to play as..
I primarily play text-based so all is good for me
I'm also a text-player, and would still be interested in checking the game out.
Text-based is good for me to.
