Looking for game of any type (Newbie) CST

Hello. I'm a 38 yr old newbie from the Texas area. I have been wanting to get involved with table top gaming for a very long time. Since, I really don't know anyone who plays, I thought roll 20 might be a great place to start. I'm really open to any type of game. Just looking for a newbie friendly group. I'm a pretty fast learner. Well, sometimes. Any ways. If anyone has a group and is interested in taking a new person by the hand and showing them the ropes, I would be very grateful. I'm in CST and pretty much open on the days and hours. Was just laid off. Well hope to hear from some one soon. Thanks, Chris

Here is the link to the free online rules for pathfinder: http://paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ . Now there are many views on what system is best to start off with. I'm of the view that the more simpler systems are the best to start with while there are others that feel pathfinder or 4e is better. It depends on the complexity of rules you wish to learn. I would stay if you want to start out fresh and new in this hobby of pen and paper gaming, take a look at 5e (latest edition of D&D), you can get the basic beginners rules for free: 5E Basic rules I like to play using the free system called Basic Fantasy Role-Playing System and there is a group here on roll20 that is for playing one shots and teaching beginners: BFRPG Group Friday Night Pickups . There is games running usually on friday in various campaign boards that use that board as a messaging and announcement center.

I'm offering 3 game sessions this week of "Basic Fantasy" which is like 1980's style D&D (same game mentioned by Pat in the post above). My game is open for new players & returning roleplayers getting back into D&D. You can come & go as you please, for any of the 3 sessions this week. The times are in the evening-night Central USA time on today (Sunday), Monday & Friday. Later weeks will have other times and you can request times for me to open the game table. BFRPG "Explore dungeons inside a strange world" Campaign link to join, learn more about it, free download of the rules, and Scheduling thread to tell me when you can play or ask any questions here: https://app.roll20.net/join/214613/lJYbmA
