Have been talking through things with core players and folks that have expressed an interest in joining. An overall outlined has been sketched out and posted in the campaign forum. This is to be a 1st to level 20 campaign, and we are looking to build a great party, not just a random collection of record sheets that couldn't successfully handle the "Inn of the Welcome Wench."
So how many people are you looking for this group exactly?
Hi there, I played a little bit of P&P RPG a few years back but my friends didn't like it, so we sadly disbanded. I would like to get back in, but am unfamiliar with D&D, so I might be in need for help in rules/lore. But since you marked "New players welcome? Yes" I hope it's ok for you. What is your timezone? I am UTC +2, so if you are UTC +5 like so many others, I think it might be hard to get your work and my sleep lined up ;)
hi, i'm interested in playing. Playing d&d since first edition. Tyler the new edition basic rules are available for free here: http://media.wizards.com/downloads/dnd/DnDBasicRules(PrinterFriendly).pdf

Trevor P. said: So how many people are you looking for this group exactly? Its all a bit squishy at the moment, however that is a deliberate choice by the core group. We have a GM and Co-GM... so no play time will be missed due to the GM no being there. We have two core players (Co-GM counts as one and one other player. The GM will not be running a character.) So GM + two players as of right now. There are four other long time players that have been a part of our group; but to be open and frank their lack of consistency in play overall leave them suspect in my book. This leave room for anywhere from 1 to 5 new group members. The Player's Handbook release date is August 19.... so that means character will be rolled up on August 23 (we will likely split the call with Tom (co-GM) handling half the group and me the other half to speed things up... then we get the entire group and watch torture Tom as he rolls up his character... after that the group begins. So... between now and August 19th I will talking to players by Skype as I can, and hashing out who is in and who is out. August 19th is the deadline for LFP. Sunday August 17 3:00PM Eastern Daylight Time Is a non-play meet... part meet and greet... part co-creation on what the group wants to achieve. Brass Tacks on all this... We are not looking for "players" we are looking for a party. Finding players is easy, forming a good group takes a bit of work. But at the end of the day, we want a good group of friends playing in party that looks something like this: Good Aligned Good mix of races (Human, Elf (non-drow), Dwarf, Halfling, Gnome, Half-Elf, Half-Orc) 2 Fighter types 1 Cleric 1 Mage 1 Thief (no stealing from the party or the module.) 2 Any classes With only two core players and still flexibility in the roster, it really comes down to making the best choice of "Does this person fit in the group?" and "Do they feel they fit in the group?" That can only be figured out by talking to each other. So PM me and we can try to find time to talk on skype.

We welcome new players because a) it makes it easy to pick which fighter will square off with the rust monster and b) good to be a steward of any hobby you play. But... We also look at achievements on Roll20... it can be an indicator of the risk of wasting every's time. Time zone is Sundays around 3PM eastern daylight savings time (still working through everyone's schedule on that bit.)

I'm interested but I'm a little iffy on if I will be able to adhere to your standards as I'm a brand new player and I literally have zero experience, so I would probably require a lot of hand holding. However time is not a problem for me and I would very rarely if ever skip a game. But if that isn't a big issue for you or the other GM I'm very interested in playing & learning. Also totally love the idea of getting to know the rest of the party before hand, probably will save on a lot awkward dialogue.

I sent a PM your way Stephen. Time zone is Sundays around 3PM eastern daylight savings time (still working through everyone's schedule on that bit.) So google told me that is UTC -4 (for example in New York). So it's 4:15 pm at your place? If this is true, 3 pm works great, since it's 9 pm for me then.
I have been wanting to play the new edition of D&D since I got a hold of the basic rules. Got a copy of the PHB (local game store is in the Wizards Play Network, so they got it a week early), but have only glanced at it so far. Been playing since 1998 off and on, with most recently playing Pathfinder. Expressing my interest in this game. I am completely new to 5th edition, though not D&D or roleplaying. Just a bit rusty on the roleplaying, as most of the games I have been in seem to be more combat heavy, and light on the roleplay. Sundays at 3pm works for me, and don't see any conflicts of which I am aware. Skype name is in my profile on here.
I'm interested and have a pretty decent experience set, about 7 years of DnD and ran the starer set adventure along with a few one shots, so as far as 5th edition goes I know the mechanics as well as anybody right now. Mostly I have DMed, but when I play a character I tend to roleplay it out and give it a development arc because that's what I like to see come out players. I like you're trying to get a group template going, and that your current ambition is toward storytellers and thinkers, which is where my characters' tone (So the Bard who tries to figure out the bandit's plan before raiding the camp instead of the Barbarian who wants to directly tackle the Stat Block of the bandit encounters with his/her new adamantine Axe ) tend to fall most of the time.

Group is full at the moment... so I have turned off LFG. If I have not replied to your PM I apologize; sort of ended up being more than I could keep up with. There may be openings in the coming two weeks; some players will bow out, some players may not be invited to continue (just how it goes.) Thank you for the respones and interest.
