Looking for a RIFTS game.

Looking for a RIFTS game on Tuesday - Thursday and on Sunday. Can swing Saturdays as long as the game ends at or before 9 EST. I like to try to mesh into a group and I'm a chill person. Low power to high it doesn't matter to me just looking for some people to have a good time with.

I have to agree with you on that. Although the couple I managed to join either died or the game was so toxic I dropped out.

I feel that.  Lots of folks want to play, no one wants to run. Every time I try to run on here, my family life goes haywire and I have to close the game to handle it.

I am currently running ATB with some Rifts OCCs thrown in.  I do not like the MDC setting, and I enjoy having more creative leeway with world-building.  Rifts have been quite detailed with all of the world books.  I enjoy them as a reference but not solid as to what I want in my world.  The biggest problem I find with Rifts games is they are almost too diverse.  Then when you start putting limitations on OCC/RCC options people get upset, or they want the world to be exactly like the book.  I have tried running Rifts games but there is always so much conflict between me and the players.  I want the world to be like 'this'.  Then they each have their own visions of the world so it just does not work out.  

JD, I can understand your frustration on that. I love reading the books and have many times because of that. But when it comes to a game you have on your mind what you want to have in it. While all the information is great if it doesn't line up with what you want I agree with dropping it. I've also never liked the MDC system used. A good friend of mine ran a Gurps game that was post apoc with some elements of the Rifts setting in it. The game ran for 7 years and finally died because life got in the way and it was eventually just he and I. We still play some but we are both looking for a game that we can play in instead of either of us running. I appreciate the roll20 but I miss face to face. I wear hearing aids and with using the roll20 or discord it's very hard for me to understand what is being said sometimes. You can have many situations where lots of people start talking at once, overlapping and I just hear babble. So I wind up just not staying engaged in the game anymore. The GM could have an amazing game but it's just to hard for me to stay in it and enjoy it. So the games that weren't toxic I would leave because I just wasn't contributing to it.

Palladium Fantasy is pretty solid around how it does SDC. MDC is tricky because it mostly relies on what gear most characters have access to. A lot of times GMs get excited and give the players access to really high tear MDC gear beyond the enemies they are fighting. Though any player, no matter how strong, loses to something else in RIFTs and it is easy for a DM to include them. Numbers are also a good deterrent and check for strongly geared players as  well.

Honestly i dont really have a problem with sdc/mdc as my second big foray into palladium products was robotech and we played for years before rifts came out. My advice ignore rue entirely look at the original rifts and robotech.

I run 2 Robotech campaigns.  I include TMNT and Rifts, Battletech, Beyond Supernatural, and anything else I think will compliment the game.  Is it true to the books? God No.  I am clear up front that the game is different, but does use mostly Robotech settings.  You make the game. People will enjoy playing or they wont.  Run it how you want.  I mix MDC and SDC settings.  Sometimes is a mecha slugfest, other times the players are on covert ops with nothing but fake uniforms and sdc weapons.  

True story. I just want to play something RIFTS lol.

Yeah really most of my games are pretty full. but will update people if i have room. atm. I run the lonnnnggg running Epic mess, my Dark Heroes ( cyberpunk meets Heroes/Nightspawn/ meets the boys/invincible ((tv series)).With some very dead reign and bts aspects for good measure.). For that one all i have to say is zombie dasher babies.... And my Family game (heroes mdc game that just recently left dune and the lands rod and is now scavaging though a aliens (the movies) infested spacehulk (40k style).
