This Session is Full! Sorry I missed you. Hopefully we can game together in future. Have a great weekend. Game Day With  Call of Cthulhu! Date:  Sunday, May 15th Start Time:  9:00 AM PDT / 4:00 PM GMT Duration:  5 hours, +1 hour optional buffer, if needed to finish. Voice:  Voice will be run on Discord Everything Else:  Roll20 is used for everything else: character sheets, maps, handouts, music, and sound effects You take a sip, your last of that bootleg gin. Just as well. You think it might have started making you go blind. You wouldn’t mind if you could stop seeing those things at night. But you don’t need eyes to dream. You rub those eyes and pick up the letter to read it again. Guy’s name is Knott. Name rings a bell. Right, Steven Knott. You used to be part of the same crowd, back when your life was more on track. It’s been a while, and you’ve been trackless for some time now. From what you remember, guy made a lot of fun of your “hobby” as he called it. He was a jerk. But then, he’s not the one sitting in a flophouse with two weeks back-rent due. So maybe he was right to make fun of you, given that you’d gladly hand back all you’ve learned since then for a good night’s sleep. But why call you? It’s not like you were drinking buddies. You just showed up at some of the same parties for a while, and then mutually ignored each other. But you must have made an impression on him, for him to track you down like this. You look at the details again. Okay, so Knott inherited a house but he can’t seem to rent it. No one stays, and it’s starting to get a reputation. He wants you to check it out. Find out what’s going on and fix it. Knott’s apparently still an idiot. You half-think to tell him to get an exterminator. It’s probably rats, or bad wiring or wind through cracks. But you’re down to your last fin. And rent’s due soon. Since you’re already two-weeks in arrears, parting a fool and his money isn’t sounding so bad. The up-front money’s good: $25. But he’s only paying a sawbuck for each day on the job. He always was a cheap bastard. Perhaps you can dig up some of your “spooky” friends who could use an easy break just as much as you. Maybe you can use that to get a bit more on the per diem. Okay, so maybe not look a gift joke-job in the mouth. It’s not like you got better to do. Spend a few days over in Beantown doing some research and then hand him some numbers for a few handymen out of the phone book. Job’s done. You’ll get paid just the same. You know what. It’s sounding better all the time. Maybe it is your dream job after all.  The Haunting  is a classic investigation. In fact, it’s THE investigation, the first ever run for  Call of Cthulhu , this according to Sandy Petersen. And he’s who ought to know. He’s the man principally responsible for creating  Call of Cthulhu . Thousands of Keepers and players have dared walk under the lintel of the Corbitt House's door in the decades since. And now it’s your turn —  if you dare that is. This will be a game focused on story and unraveling a mystery. The themes of this game are investigation, horror, and dread. There will be pre-made characters to play, or you can make your own.  The Investigator Handbook  is included in the game, for players’ convenience. I do want to emphasize however that though this is a casual game, you need to bring an investigative mindset to the table.  Call of Cthulhu  does not reward rash action or going it alone. You’re part of a team, looking to solve a mystery. This is a game more about cooperation, thinking, and getting into character more than anything else. You must not have already played, run, or read through this adventure please. (Don’t want to spoil any surprises). Again, this is  j ust an easy-going game day to have some fun and socialize.  Players have the option to play a pre-generated character that's ready to go, or if there's time, they can create a brand new character. As always for my games, the primary rules for interaction are courtesy, patience, acceptance, tolerance, and having respect for everyone. Newbies are welcome. Games are always free. Having or knowing the rules is never required. And for " one-off"  social games like this, characters will be provided. All you need to do is show up, ready to have some fun. For those who would like to know more about  Call of Cthulhu , here is a  Video  of Becca Scott's introduction to the game's 7th edition rules, helpful for beginners.  But again, there is no need to know the rules. Roll20's character sheets do most of the work for you and we can explain things as we go along. You just need Discord, and a Roll20 account, both free. Also, the  Investigators Handbook  7th edition has been added to the game for players to use. PM me if interested
