Hiya, hoi, howdy. Name's Metta, and I'm- you read the title. Some thingies about me! I'm 19 years old, male and live in Europe. I have a fun case of social anxiety, as many others also do, which -combined with some other mental state related stuff- makes me not a very ideal person to participate in games over voice! I stumble over every other word I mutter out, sometimes just freeze up, you get the idea*. It also doesn't help I'm way too shy for my own good, but semantics. That being said, I love-love-love the concept of TTRPGs; even in practice (just not over voice w). Playing a character alongside a few other wonderful people, getting invested in every character both as individuals and as part of the group dynamic; I live for that shit. Anyways! Some good to know things, probably: I don't really have a schedule, per se. I live in a very complicated situation (in a good way, don't worry), leaving me with a lot of time to busy myself or work on my mental. I typically go to sleep at around 3 AM CET (again, I have a positive reason for this, no worries w), so I tend to mesh quite well with people on the west coast, too. If we're talking timezones, anyways- As read in the title, I'm still relatively new to the system. I'm very unfamiliar with the little things (I learnt you can't use a levelled spell and a cantrip in the same turn the other day, to give a bit of insight.) that 5e has going with its ruleset. That being said, I'm a quick learner, and if you have a tad bit of patience with me, I promise I'll get stuff relatively quick. Getting me to ask things to begin with is the hard part. I'd say that, for a non-native speaker, my English is quite alright (Please correct me if I'm wrong, I don't want to sound like a stuck-up asshole). And, as much as I'd like to be as tolerant with all kinds of people as I want to be, my brain does not mesh well with grammar where I have to constantly fill in blanks/fix things myself to make any sense of what was said. I really would like to apologise for this, as I don't mean anything personal with this little tidbit of information, but I figured it was a good idea to point out in case it might brew up any potential frustration on my end, in the future. Okay, I'm a little unsure as to what else I should- right! My experiences, so far. Mkay, so, I completed a single (one/1) Lost Mines of Phandelver campaign before, which admittedly did end up being a little rushed at the end... but it was fun for what it was! Said campaign was text only as well. Then I tried a handful of games with voice chat, and... yeah, well, here we are! If you couldn't already tell, by the way, I'm very nervous whilst typing this? I've already made posts like these before, people have taken me up on them, and I had to end up disappointing those wonderful, wonderful people due to my depression getting the best of me. This time, though, I'm in a very, very good mental spot (compared to before); hence my little hiatus, and why I'm making another attempt. That's it, then. Thanks for checking out the post; for your time, and consideration. Have a very nice start of your weekends, and I'd hope to get in touch, maybe! *I'm aware that its totally normal to stumble over your words every so often, but I can not stress enough how bad it gets with me when it comes to strangers, when I'm on my own. That aside, I also pay way too much attention to it, resulting in spiralling xyz xyz etc
