How to I setup Offline Mode????

I need to work on my campaign but don't want any of my players joining in. How do I prevent my game from showing up or stopping people from joining while I work on it.

the primary technique for this is a "splash page". So just put a blank page, or a room / tavern / field, and put your Players on that while you're working on other pages. If anyone loads the game they'll just see the player's splash page.
Yeah but what I want is to go into offline mode. Or don't want anyone to know that I'm online at all. For example I tell my GF that I'm working overtime tonight but sees that my campaign is online. She's going to know that I'm not a work and am at home working on my campaign.
There is no such thing.

Try to avoid lying to your GF ~_^
Maybe you could create a duplicate of your campaign then transfer your players over there by giving them the link. Of course, if you had mentor subscription level this would be really easier with the transmogrifier which would allow you to transfer pages from your workplace to your real campaign. Also, if your gf looks at Roll20, aren't you worried she might look at the forums? lol!

Perhaps you could explain why you need people to not see you working on the campaign? There may be a solution for the reason.
Well the other day I was working on my campaign and one of my players joined. Yeah they didn't see anything but I could here some weird breathing. That's the only I knew someone joined. When I'm working on my masterpiece campaign I don't want to be disturbed.

Were they listed at the bottom? You should not hear breathing unless you can see the person listed at the bottom as being present. Any chance someone was in your room/house breathing and not the game?

No they had their mic on. I haven't figured out how to mute the game. Any hoo. to the Devs this would be a great option. Thanks.
As counter-intuitive as it is to request an offline mode with an online VTT, a "locked" mode would be welcome. Sometimes the GM just wants some privacy to create, for whatever reason.

in the setting tab, you can disable the audio and video.

I'd want to lock out my players too if they spent their free time logged into campaigns between sessions just breathing heavily. aside from that instance though, probably not.

Pat S. said: in the setting tab, you can disable the audio and video. What Pat said. To add another option, your computer has a couple of Mute buttons too, usually one on the keyboard, one on the speakers if external, and one on-screen at the volume bar.

Nelson, here are some things you can do: 1) Audio/Video: Go to to the settings tab to disable the audio/video. 2) You do not want them to see what you are working on: Create a "landing page" and move the player ribbon to that. 3) You do not want them to bug you with text conversation while you are working on the game: In the settings tab turn off the 'beep' sound and then minimize the sidebar or go to a different tab in the sidebar. Of course, all of this may be avoided by requesting that they leave while you prep.
To what Gauss said I'll add : 4) Get the mentor level subscription, create a copy of your campaign without the players, work on your copy, then transfer data from your copy to your real game. I think there are features that I'd rather have in the next update, some that would be much more interesting for more people, especially since you can do what you want with workarounds... But it's just my opinion though, there's really no need to go spreading it around.

That's the only I knew someone joined. When I'm working on my masterpiece campaign I don't want to be disturbed. You could always kick players from the campaign between sessions and then re-invite with a new join link once you're completed your "masterpiece." A bit like burning down your house to get a mosquito, but sometimes those things are really annoying.
^ LOL
If you kick them you'll have to remake all links to their character sheets etc when you reinvite them again. Also, if they had any macros, those will be gone. So you'll not make alot of friends that way. Why does it matter so much that they don't see you?
I created a splash screen/landing screen like this: Which is what the players see when they load their page. You could also put "DM at work and desperately hates distractions! Please return later" Its pretty clear none the less. OR you could just ask them to leave in chat. Whatevs.
This is one reason why I build a new campaign for each Chapter. I can build ahead and not be hassled until it is ready. As we use the Journal Character sheets I can just move them between campaigns (Worth being a Mentor).
Yeah Stealth/Invisible mode would be sooo great to have.
Use workarounds, you have plenty!

Well they could just add it to their next update. I suppose we're not allowed to make suggestions? What other rules should I be aware of?? Oh seniority would probably be another one??

That's not it. I can see why it would look that way to you from the responses, but no. You're certainly allowed to make suggestions. There is a Suggestions sub-forum for that here. We are currently in the "Specific use" sub-forum, which is more of the place for asking how to achieve what you want. So you've mentioned the problem, and people gave you solutions, in this thread. You can still make a "Stealth mode" suggestion in the Suggestions forum, if you haven't already done so (or you can add onto an existing suggestion thread for this sort of feature, if you find one in the Search).
Personally, I think that this is not a priority... in my own opinion . You have your own and that's very okay; I'm just saying that this shouldn't be a point of focus. As far as I know, there's only a very small team working on Roll20, and there are plenty of features / bug fix that should come first. Devs can only work so much and aren't god, they are human being with time constraints and all, so since you can fix your problem without a major update, why not use it? Besides, I don't think anyone said you weren't allowed to make suggestions either and I'm not sure I understand your attitude atm. It's all friendly here and we've only been trying to help you. Hope you have fun anyway. Good luck!

Please keep things civil. Nelson , as others have pointed out, this is the Specific Use Questions forum and not the Suggestions forum. People were trying to help with possible workarounds for what you wanted.
