CoC is a unique animal. My experience is you need the right GM and exact right players because horror is hard to pull off unless everyone buys into it. There's also the recruiting problem, "HI, here's a game where you end up helpless, dead, or insane." The fans that like it, like it, but the default is of course, Star Wars, Pathfinder, Savage Worlds, Pick a flavor of D&D. I had the similar problem with anything involving Vietnam.
