Rise Up or Bow Down! The biggest and most exciting year for Dungeons & Dragons hits a pivotal moment as the Tyranny of Dragons storyline kicks off. This rich new narrative challenges players to rise up against hoards of evil dragons, including Tiamat, the most fearsome dragon in D&D’s history! Do you have commitment enough to play weekly 4 hour sessions? Looking for a home to start that ALOC or DnDAL character in Tyranny of Dragons? Let me know! Will look at availability in EST slots for multiple runs over the weekends but nothing is solid yet. The time to start is...well...now! Selection process to sort out sessions based on time slots and DM availability initially, then locked in. Preference will be given to returning players so PM me with your intentions and interest and we will go from there. To ensure everyone is on the same page: time in first session will be set aside for character creation. Please read the code of conduct and campaign discussion threads before posting interest. Sessions will be run according to official DnDAL guidelines so be forewarned! (Character and Adventure Logs etc to be submitted) Game on Fellow Gamers! This looks fun, but what version of DnD is this?
Would you mind posting a link to the campaign page ?
I am definitely down for this if the days match up with my schedule
Depending of the time you choose to run, I would be very interested. PM sent.
willing to play on saturdays
I am definitely interested and would be free for almost any time in August, however in September my classes will start up again and i will be slightly more busy, should be fine on weekends, however. Background wise this would be my first D&D experience, however, I have a little over a year's experience with Pathfinder and know the basics of role-playing, etc. I would likely need some assistance with creating a character, but will likely begin doing my homework after posting this and try to get a basic understanding going into this,

I can do almost any day (and the days you put forward I can do.) and am very interested. I own the PHB so I already have an idea of what I am going to do.
I would really like to participate but it all depends on time. Since I'm from Europe I would be able to participate only in the given Sunday timeframe. If a corresponding timeframe is selected for Saturday, I would be happy to join that as well.
I would be quite interested in this if a Saturday evening session time works out. I am available 9pm+ CDT (UTC -5) [10pm+ EDT]. Fridays are partially open for me as I am unavailable weeks that I am headed out of town and typically the first Friday of every month. I've played all versions of DnD (originally started when ADnD was out), hoping back and forth in later years with online play and also expanding out to a host of other related & non-related systems. I've also played through a homebrew campaign while Next was still in development. You mentioned ALOC or DnDAL. Can you explain what they are or at least what the acronym stands for? You also mentioned 'Please read the code of conduct and campaign discussion threads before posting interest.' Where is the code of conduct and campaign discussion threads? Are they listed inside of the campaign page? If so we'd need an invite or link to the campaign to have access to them.

Thanks for the interest everyone! Sounds like I need to get a little more indepth so .... no time has been confirmed yet but thinking of setting up a two-session a week join-in with preference given to returning players starting next week with a hiatus at the end of the month as I am heading to FanExpo to play and even DM in the Epics Corruption in Kryptgarden game friday night! So really looking at a solid start to the season beginning the weekend of September 6th and hopefuly get a game or two started the weekend of the 23rd of August. To answer your other questions: This is D&D Next or 5th Edition more info here... DnDAL is D & D Adventurer's League more info here... ALOC is Andventurers League Online Collective more info here... Basically I am setting things up to play online and for us to get credit for it with the inaugural season of Wizards Organized Play Program. So if you have a DCI# and play along you can use the characters for this online play at game stores and conventions as well. If you don't thats alright too as it is open to all. We are all learning the new system though have a little experience with it so character creation will be handled in session (whenever that is) and characters will be kept in at least two ways - one is the official Adventurers League and Online Collective fillable pdf to be sent to yours truly once the character is made and after every session so it can be put on file through WPN to allow you to keep your xp and loot AND there is an online character sheet available in campaign through Roll20 The threads are found inside the campaign forum and if you are still interested then let me know as I will be handing the links out tomorrow. Thanks! Game on Fellow Gamers! Parry
Darn, I cannot commit to two sessions a week. I am currently in two other campaigns and cannot commit to being available two more nights. If you are in need of another player in the future feel free to hit me up and perhaps one of my current campaigns would have finished up by then. On second thought, I think I finally fully understand your plan. You are running sessions twice a week regardless of who is there. Players that have played in past weeks are given priority, much like league games played in a local gaming store. I am apparently a bit slow on the uptake, too used to seeing tons of games built for a dedicated party for every session. Ah, Adventurer's League. Thank you for the links. How does it work for characters that miss a session? Is their absence just hand-waived or explained in-character? How are they kept up in XP, do they just get the XP that all the participating players got? If not, how do they keep up with those that are always present? This is probably just my inexperience with league games. I had thought that typically a new adventure/session was released/ran each week. If you are running more than one session a week will they be separate campaigns/groups/threads in the same story? Or is each session a continuation of the last held session (if it was last week or yesterday)? Also if these games have less of a consistent party, how does the Role-Play side of things tend to work out? Will it be more combat and 'complete the goal' oriented or will there still be a decent amount of story and RP between the players? Obviously that depends on the players to an extent but I am trying to get an idea of what the sessions will be like. Saturday evening works best for me so if it works for me to only be attending those sessions, yes, I am still interested. And hopefully I am not bogging you down with too many questions. Perhaps hopping on Skype for a bit would make things faster. I try to be fully committed to a campaign once I join so I am just trying to make sure I understand how this campaign will be ran and played.

No no not two sessions per week for players only one of the two, I am looking at DMing two sessions in the week as there are alot of players looking to get involved and need to keep head count down to a manageable size :) Unfortunately when it comes to AL stuff if you are not there you do not share and there can be a mix of character levels. From what I have read to be official it must remain open to all who come it cannot be a closed session, that said there are only so many seats and so not everyone can play, the only way to maintain the spot is through being a returning player or signing up for the event to be an alternate. Now how the one time alternate players work I have not had to worry about yet so we will cross that bridge when the time comes. Honestly though I have my own campaign that is not AL driven if you are interested that me and my gaming group play saturdays from 10-2 or sometimes 4 or even 6 depending on availability (EST) and if that sounds like something more to what you are looking for....let me know! The link for that one (mainly 3.5 with some AD&D and OD&D thrown in as a hold over from the last 30 years) is here
Count me in. I'm drafting a high (gold) elf that while he started as a cleric of Corellon, now that the Weave is restored is going to follow the path of Arselu'Tel'Quess (mage). (Trying to make a cannon FR backstory for elf wizards is a nightmare, since the have to grow up in a world without the Weave. Yes there were mages in 4E but ... /* No more comments */). I'm going for a mix of the acolyte, the noble, and the sage background (not sure yet which one would be the main one).

Two sessions a week or not I am still interested. Planning on going with a Pally
The other campaign does not work for me, I am only available 10pm+ EDT. Once a week, preferably Saturday starting at 10-10:30pm EDT does.
I am really considering running two parties with the current number of participants that have shown interest. As for now times for other runs are up in the air but Sundays at 10am-2pm appears to be a very viable time slot.I may consider doubling up on sunday or reducing the time and running two tables. At this time I do not have a 10pm start time for saturday however if there is enough call for it then that may be open to discussion.
For me an evening time slot (Eastern) is what would work. Hopefully there are some others looking for the same and you're interested in running that time slot. If not, no harm done. I'll keep an eye on how things go.
