Intro Hi, roll20, I'm DM Barry. We're over thirty sessions in to a 3.5 elder evils game. Games generally last four hours and fifteen minutes. The fifteen minutes are included for a break in the middle of the session. I include pathfinder classes on request and approval. If you apply to this game, don't hesitate to ask. The worst I can say is no (I won't say eww). We're looking to fill one slot in this game. I write recaps for each session. You can catch up or follow along here . I mostly do this to serve as reference material and to canonize an official record of events. I definitely don't expect you to have read all of these if you apply or join. We meet weekly at 7 pm central. We use discord for voice, and roll20 for visuals and battle maps. You can find more details about this game here . My style & the journey so far Primarily, my style focuses around an interwoven web of plots and subplots, and evolving roleplay/character development. There has been and will be combat, but that is not my primary focus. The tone of this game is intended as serious, with some lighter moments. If you intend to join this game, expect periodic, plot related combat balanced to the power level of the party, a lot of intrigue heavy plot development, and roleplay with the other players. Our three adventurers, Ronja, Cassius, and Vix, find themselves presently in Mezro, Chult, hosted by the merchant Jaleel Boku as his guests of honor. They're held in such regard, because they recovered and returned his only daughter, and his sole heir, Keesa, to him. They don't plan on staying overly long, because they are set to return another woman in their care named Aziza bin Khali to her home in Zakhara. They're already halfway done with their present task. How did they even get here in the first place? They rescued these women from being held in a comatose state by a cult calling themselves the Progeny of Ragnorra, operating out of a secret underground base underneath the Plungepool in Cormyr. That isn't the whole of it. That's barely scratching the surface of the predicament they find themselves in. The cult has poisoned the water, the soil, the plants, and denizens of areas in Cormyr in the effort to ready this world for the arrival of their goddess. The party has pieced together this cult's designs while their efforts are sidelined by noble houses lured by this cult with the siren song of wealth, power, and meaning - while they throw themselves headlong into the deceptive "healing shrines" this cult constructs. They have pruned two, but more sprout up like weeds. All the while, the mystery of a bodiless creature named 'Vane' smolders. This never-seen peripheral shade, seemingly subject to Ragnorra's whims, possesses innocent people and uses them to lure others into the cult's thrall - or worse. Whenever they think they have the whole of the picture, another layer of the onion reveals itself. The future seems uncertain and the present ever changing, but it seems on some level this cult, these disappearances, and the schemes of the nobles all lead together into something unseen and likely monstrous. The Party Since you've read this far, let's meet the party. Ronja is a mysterious woman using stolen power from even more unknowable otherworldly forces, from a far-off land. For reasons unclear to those unfamiliar to her, she seems dead-set on dismantling this cult, to whatever ends might be required - even if it's her's. The determination she has for her task may seem difficult to understand for a layman, but one look at her unusual appearance makes one begin to wonder on what outlying world the enmity was truly born. Cassius is a merchant and former caravan guard from Rashemen. Originally he seemed to be drawn by nothing other than the glimmer of gold. That may still be true in part, but cults bent on subjugation of entire planets are bad for business. Some have suspected him leading a double life known as a region-renowned dancer and entertainer named Golden Leg. But surely, this simple man couldn't be the illustrious Golden Leg, surely. Even humble beginnings at times beget greatness, and Cassius certainly seems to be caught up in a weave of fate far beyond his grasp. Vix is a necromancer from Suzail, who really, really doesn't want to be anywhere near Suzail. She is cold, utilitarian, and at the end of the day, morals aside, she gets things done. Many report being unsettled being near her, despite her charms. Occasionally, minor elements of her appearance weren't as they were the previous day. Maybe you misremembered? Why is she carrying that alarming bag around with her at all times? Did it just move? It's probably just your imagination.
