Welcome brave adventurers! Are you a fan of gothic horror? Will you survive in this dark and gritty world long enough to learn its secrets and escape? Come, face your fears, and play in the most infamous adventure ever written! *Join us for an epic adventure! We are looking to add one or two more players to the group. The party has reached 3rd level and have just started to explore the Village pf Barovia. The current party consists of a Dwarf Cleric, Human Monk, Tabaxi Sorcerer, and a Human Rogue. Interested players should review the posts "About our CoS game" and the Player's Primer below, and fill out an application. We look forward to hearing from you! General Info : We are using Discord for voice and Roll20 for music, maps, and rolling. We are playing weekly, Saturday evenings, 6-10pm EST. Sessions are typically about 4 hours long, although sometimes we may go over or under slightly. We'll also take a 10-15 break about midway through each session. This is a long-term campaign (lvls 1-10) that requires a significant investment in your character, and each other. Your success will depend on others and others will depend on you. Be in for the long-haul, be on time, be present, and make every effort to show up ready to play. This campaign focuses on storytelling, plot, and character development, punctuated with deadly, tactical, combat encounters. While it is possible to have an entire session without any combat, when you do have that encounter, it will be difficult. All Boss battles are deadly, and the locations are not scaled to the level of the character. Be ready when you enter a new location and do so with purpose and intent. Wander at your own risk. This is NOT the kind of game where you can go it alone. It’s highly social game that relies on collaborating with NPCs and maintaining those relationships. If you act in reckless or selfish manner and alienate an ally, you’ll lose resources, negatively impact relationships with other NPCs, and decrease the likelihood for positive outcomes. Players who are vocal, pro-active, and willing to role-play with each other will do well in this campaign. If you don't like RP, this is not the game for you! This game will focus on character growth and development, the journey, and BECOMING the hero. About the Campaign : Curse of Strahd is an epic Wizards of the Coast campaign set in the dark land of Barovia. Unlike other story lines you see in D&D, CoS is not a classic fantasy, but rather an exploration into the Gothic Horror genre. Vampires, Werewolves, and Zombies, oh my! *WARNING : Some of the subject matter in CoS can be dark, chilling, grotesque, sad, xenophobic, or otherwise unpleasant. If you have issues with the more mature nature of this campaign, please don't apply. You have been warned. Note: While not the focus of the game, this material is meant to set the mood and help establish the setting. I will honor this intention, making a conscious effort to do so judiciously, while being mindful not to trespass against a Player’s personal boundaries. About Me, your DM : I am a veteran DM, from the old-school, and this will be my second time running Curse of Strahd DnD5e. This is my favorite D&D adventure and I’m excited to run it. I am fairly firm, but fair, and I believe in actions having consequences. This is a dynamic game. What you do WILL matter. I encourage critical thinking and creative problem solving, leaning towards the Rules as Intended (RAI) interpretation and the rule of cool. That said, this is not the game to look for loopholes or ways to exploit the system.
