Selecting a creature from a specific compendium

I have a question if there's a way to choose the source you're dragging a creature from into the game. I have a Plus account and I recently got some more source books and I tried draging their stat blocks into my games, however when I try to select a creature that is in SRD it defaults to that one that has no token attached, even though I have these creatures with proper token in another game. For example, I have Ghosts of Saltmarsh, Wildmount and Dragon Heist (I don't have MM). I can drag over NPCs like Black Viper or Meloon Wardragon to a new game. I cannot drag over Aurinax or Xanathar . I can drag over an Adult Gold Dragon , but only SRD and I don't have access to any Beholder , even though both are in GoS and Wildmount. I know I can technically Vault them over, but is there any setting I'm missing that is available to me that'd just fix that. Thanks in advance.

Hi Grey Silvermane! Here are some things to check. Look at the sharing settings on your campaign settings page. Make sure the sources you want to use are enabled (green) Check to make sure you do not have the SRD version of a monster already in the game. If you try to drag in something that already exists in the game, a compendium drag will only pull in another copy of the existing monster. It will not overwrite with a different version. This is to protect any homebrew or modifications you may have made. Check the out of game compendium page to make sure that you have absolutely have access to those monsters.
I have my campaign of Princes of the Apocalypse, it has all of my books enabled. I type in 'Beholder' - it shows the Mechanical Beholder from Acquisitions Incorporated and no other creature, there are no beholders in PotA. The third point might be the part I misunderstand. When I load something like Wildmount or WDH to a game it already has a bestiary in them including what is normally found in SRD or MM, though inherently the books don't have their stat blocks in them, unlike specific NPCs. So does this mean even though I have these creatures stat blocks and tokens in those books I own, I don't have access to them in the compendium because they don't originate from said books? Also sorry if I make it sound more complicated than needed, like I said, I just recently invested in source more books and I'm trying to figure stuff out.

I just loaded a copy of Wildemount. It has a Beholder in the module, with artwork. In general, if a creature is unique to a book, it will be in that book's compendium. If the creature as provided in the book is merely a reference to another source (Ex. "Bob is a beholder ." with no printed statblock) the module will only contain an in-game copy, with no Compendium content. This mirrors the experience of buying the Wildemount book. Buying that physical book would not automatically give you the Monster Manual copy. I.e. by buying the Wildemount book, you get what is in the Wildemount book. By way of courtesy and with the permission of WotC, you are also given a fully working copy in the game. Roll20 also does this for specific rules and systems that may be referenced by the module, but not in its text, and not in the SRD—you get a handout with the referenced material. I.e. compendium content is only provided for things actually in the print version You could move such a monster to a different game in one of two ways: As a Plus user, you can use the Character Vault. Export it from your Wildemount game and Import it into another. Pro users also have the Transmogrifier, which allows you to freely move monsters, maps and more from one game to another, provided you are the creator of both games. Finally, if you have the Beholder from a purchase of the Monster Manual, you can drag that beholder into any game that uses the 5e Compendium and for which you have set up the sharing to allow it (usually the default is to share everything). If for any reason, there is already a Beholder in the game, you will only create a new instance of the existing Beholder. For example, if all Wildemount Beholders had an Irresistible Dance ray, and you dragged in a Monster Manual compendium beholder to that Wildemount game, you would still only have the modified beholder in that game. If you need both, just rename the existing copy in the game and the Compendium drag will pull in a true MM version.
