Problem with using Maps from Marketplace

Hello all! New to the site and everything is looking great! I'm fiddling around with all the tools and I'm very happy with how to use this system. I do have one small problem however and I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong. I'm DM'ing a campaign of Rise of the Runelords and I found a map on the marketplace called Sandpoint. PERFECT! I can use that for the opening encounters! I drag it to the background maps layer and it appears in a really small size (2x2 tiles). Just to find out if the image itself was bugged on the system, I downloaded it and re-uploaded it from my images and its perfectly fitted in its full glory. I've tried this with other maps and it just doesnt work, they're all so small. How do you drag items from the library to the background without them shrinking in size? :< Yours Sincerely, FlowerPaladin
This resizing of maps and cards is something we're looking at.  Sorry for the issue.

The problem is you don't know what the original dimensions of the map are and there isn't a grid to line it up with.  If you go directly to the marketplace and then download it to your computer.  Then inspect the file and you will see that map is 2500x3333 pixels.  So in Roll20 if you right click on that map and click IsDrawing and then click Set Dimensions and set the dimensions to 2500x3333 you will get what the map is supposed to be.  The only other problem is that map might have been created at 300ppi and roll20 uses 70ppi so if that was the case then the native size of the map would be too large.  This map is 72dpi(screen res) so its about right). I probably just confused you, but unfortunately that's how it is.  now if it had a grid you could just count the number of squares by the number of squares and then do the set dimension command using units and it would be perfect (unless the grid had some partial grid on the borders and then you are into a whole other problem. Another thing you can do is resize it using the resize handles while you hold the Ctrl key down.  Then just resize the map to what you think is the right size for it vs your tokens. If you ever need a map or token resized properly and you don't know how to do it just email me.. I tried uploading a fixed one for you here but the forum resizes pictures to smaller size. You can email me at morval at pawsnorth dot com Konrad
Thanks for the reply guys! I'll keep your advice in mind :) Glad to know its not just me being a moron!
Usually, when I upload a map onto the board (either from the marketplace or from my computer), it shows up really small. I just resize it to fit the page, and it scales to that size. When the size becomes larger, the resolution updates so that the map is still in high detail.
