The magic that its population enjoyed, had started to become tainted in its essence. The more people used spells, the less magic was available. Hundreds had began researching ways to halt or slow down the taint, but few were successful. Guilds all around the nation had allotted parties to search the source of the taint, but none have returned from their journey. As time passed, people lost more and more hope for their beloved magic. In fear of losing it entirely, magic would soon be a thing to be saved. Magic items, items that had magic imbued with power, were in higher demand. Use of such items were the only method of using the mystical arts without risk of depleting resources. Battles had erupted as more and more guilds fought for these powerful items. This continued for years. In the present day, the fighting had dampened, but the nation was split. Each city wary in their trades, afraid that their partner would betray them. The wildlife had not been spared either. At the same time the magic had began to be tainted, wildlife had started to get scarce. In a span of five years, the country of Zhandirah had fallen in grace.
