Hello my name is JohnBoi AKA J.Y.I.F AKA John. I am the DM for a homebrew campaign of my own design that is a interdimensioal war and survival of the home Material Plane realm of Akatera against the mass invasion of an other world empire, known as the Crimson Legion, looking to add to it's collection of conquered worlds. We are looking for a player with a good amount of experience of D&D under the belt to join up with our group of misfits group of heroes in saving the realm of Akatera from dominion. The party is currently level 7 with the end being set somewhere between 13-15. Level up is EXP based. Games are Friday @ 4PM PST/ 7PM EST, voiced on Discord, and are weekly. Game strives to be close as 50/50 RP to Combat as I can possibly I can keep it, while respecting player agency to do random things... if you are prepared for the consequences. The game is a branching path type of adventure with some sandbox elements. Here are brief descriptions of the characters of the party: Half-Elf Paladin: Stoic, hides in his armor from the public. Protective. A commanding officer in the army fighting against the Crimson Legion. Tank/Pseudo-Leader Drow Cleric: Assertive, but has sweet motherly side to people they like. Not very tactful. Buff/Debuff Spells and Abilities Tabaxi Ranger: Stubborn, Complicated backstory, has tendency to resort to violent actions against people really don't like. Looking for acceptance. Ranged DPS Elf Wizard: "Little Miss Sunshine". Optimist. Strategic. Socially awkward and nervous at times. Utility for any possible situation. Shifter Artificer: An intellect with some suppressing viciousness. Per player "Ironman but just a Werewolf". Constantly tinkering. Tank/Utility If you're a still interested then please answer the following questions below so I have a general idea of who you are and if you are a fit for the game. If selected you will receive a private message from me to set up a discord interview and exchange some more information. Thank you for taking the time to read this post. PLEASE ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE GAME Character Concept and a One Paragraph Backstory (Don't worry, we will go over details in interview) Type of Player I am Things I don’t want in a campaign Your Favorite Movie
I am interested but it all depends on whether or not I can get Fridays off. I do have a few questions about the game as well, if you wouldn't mind answering.
Character Concept and a One Paragraph Backstory (Don't worry, we will go over details in interview) Well before i really get set on anything id like to talk it out with you of course so i get a better idea. I do have a few concepts though. Warmage, could be wizard/bard any sort of spell caster. Than thru a combination of feats and such i would be wielding something like a longsword and wearing armor maybe even a shield. Plenty of ways to do this just from using source books.  Cleric/warlock? basically id be a cleric worshiping the god or deity or fiend, what have you. id go cleric first than go warlock and say that the thing i worshiped made me a pact. all sorts of backstory potential here, would be frontline with buffs and heals.  Mage fist?!?! some sort of close combat fighter probably monkish, using magics to enhance melee attack's with aura, could be done with source books but would be fun to hombre something special.   I don't know what to call this one, but a fighter/mage (ish) with a missing limb, basically use magic and tech combo to recreate that limb, could be done many ways, and as such maybe they have some other abilities. like a leg would increase speed and make me be able to jump/climb. could work with artificer to upgrade other parts and unlock new abilities could be cool. Type of Player I am I'm  very flexible , its all about the group. What matters to me is we all have fun. Can do rp or combat. I've  done a lot of both, i haven't  done super super serious rp, but I'm  up for the challenge if that's  what the vibe is. Things I don’t want in a campaign Hate towards other players or the dm, players trying to force other players to do something in game with spells or violence's, Players stealing from players.  Your Favorite Movie Not really a movie guide but i will watch videos twice as long analyzing the movie and showing love for it. I really enjoy seeing people put their all into things and seeing people around enjoy that.
Character Concept and a One Paragraph Backstory (Don't worry, we will go over details in interview) Circus Performer Rogue.             Being a human in the All Monster Circus was never easy for Clay. His talents always being over shadowed by the wondrous creatures the ringmaster would trout out each night was a nightly reminder that the ringmaster never appreciated his effort. But taking care of all of the creatures as well as honing his own juggling and knife throwing act was simple existence that Clay never had reason to be to angry about. It wasn't until he caught the Ringmaster selling one of the creatures Clay adored to be butchered for some rich nobles "exotic" meal. Clay took it upon himself to rescue the creature but was to late. He couldn't touch the noble, but the Ringmaster was fair game. That night he slipped into the ringmaster tent and slipped out without anyone the wiser. Come morning the rest of the circus found the Ringmaster dead, Clay gone, and several of the magical creature's cages open and empty     2. Type of Player I am             I like to be a team player. If don't mind the challenge of filling a role for instance. I like to make characters and backstories. Also will try to be genial and respectful of the group but if concerns are brought up and not addressed I will leave a group as I don't have time for drama or bs.     3. Things I don’t want in a campaign             Straight up evil PC's. I don't mind morally grey ones, but wanton murder and torture tends to make me feeling queasy IRL. If it's villains that's okay enough so long as they get their comeuppance.      4. Your Favorite Movie             Not sure why this matter but The 5th Element. Hands down. Good action good comedy. Ending is rough but I love it.

1) sorc/bard (sorc to represent innate magic, rest in bard that his background as "entertainer" cultivated ... if not multiclassing allowed then pure bard) Have a longer background wrote out but in short:  Johnny Gold, a 264 year old dwarven bard. He can be sarcastic, pessimistic, and grump, but at his core he is still good and will lay down his life for a good companion.  He was raised in a traveling troupe of entertainers. after a plague wiped out family he moved on by himself and his best friend. After a while they built a tavern, he had a wife and kid, but then his wife ran away with his best friend and son, and his friend left him with huge debt. He wondered around after getting out of debt prison doing odd jobs and finding more bad luck. Finally in his almost elderly years he decided to take one last big gamble and make it big as a adventure or lose to fate as so many un named fortune seekers do ... maybe even do some good in the world, for once in his life at the end of it all. 2) I would say overall I am a easy going person. I tend to lean towards characters that are utility/support , jack-of -all-trades , or just fill a role needed in the group. I know the mechanics of 5e fairly well, and have been trying to improve and immerse myself more in the RP aspects of the game. Though I rarely play the "Knight for peace and justice", I dont do PvP , and try to act in a way that will benefit the group ... or at least not be a detriment. 3) not a fan of PvP at all. I tend not to like games that are magic item crazy. (I like sweet loot like the next player, but when you see homebrews getting dropped that give you 5 attunement slots or raise your spell DC by 3+...its getting out of hand) 4) toughest question so far....I like so many movies: Willow, Legend of the fall, Wizards, Flash Gordon..... If I had to pick a number one: "The Big Lebowski" ?
