Height-based dynamic lighting barriers?

Just wondering if anything of this sort is in the works. I've been wanting it more and more as time goes on. In case it's unclear what I mean, I am referring to dynamic lighting that's similar to the new one-way option, but would allow us to define regions based on height and use simple logic to dictate how those regions interact. A basic scenario would be, a flat area with a hill in the center. Define the lower area as Region 1 and the hill as Region 2. A person ontop of the hill can see both Region 2 and Region 1, but a person in Region 1 cannot see Region 2 because its at a higher elevation.

I'm not aware of this being worked on? But, one-way barriers sounds like they would work in your scenario. Pretty sure you can make any polygon using one-way barriers, making them transparent from the inside out (looking "down") and blocking from the outside in (looking "up"). Of course, this won't help with high-flying creatures in Region 1 or if there were two hills at opposite sides of the map, though.
Correct, the current version would only work in very narrow cases. A single hill where everyone is on the ground? Sure. But if there's multiple hills, or anybody is flying, or you've got more than 2 levels? Doesn't work.
