Variant CRIT Handling for D&D5E

Hi - my group has decided they want to use the variant rule for calculating critical hit damage. This says you do max damage plus the roll - for example, a weapon does 1d8+2 damage, on a  critical hit, it would do 1d8+8+2. Without manually adjusting every weapon on every sheet, is there a way to change the default Critical Damage calculation to match this? TIA!

Assuming you are using the "5e by Roll20" sheet, there is no way to change all the critical damage rolls at once. You will need to edit each attack and change the critical damage field from "blank" to the maximum for the weapon.

I wrote a script a long time ago to do this. I would have been hesitant to suggest using it, but Steven B gave every indication that it still works .
