Regarding Dark Mode and Suggestions for Roll20 itself

" We are excited to share that we have rolled out a dark mode option for the Roll20 site, addressing the top-voted suggestion on our forum! You can now set color mode preferences on our main site through your  Account Settings . If you need any help, please reference our  Help Center .  If you enable dark mode, you won’t see it on every page – for now, our blog and some compendium pages will have different formatting, depending on publisher choice. We are working with a group of publishers to enhance formatting over time. There may sometimes be conflicts with our WYSIWYG editor on the forums and in other situations where users copy and paste text. If you have any suggestions, please submit them  here . For more details about this feature,  please read our blog post ." Link to the Product Portal brings you to a generic sign-in Page for the Portal app and not to the Portal itself directly. You can submit feedback and afterwards confirm your mail address without the need of an account there. So maybe you want to change the link! While I enjoy using Dark Mode (for the site it is a welcoming change after the recent color debacle!) I have to say a few things: Achievements in Profile do not really work well with dark mode as they are "too colorful"! It does not fit the dark mode color scheme! (MAYBE you want to switch Icons here?) The "Box" around the Top-navigation sub links... does this really have to be there? In Light mode there are no boundaries any more (which needs to be fixed as it really does not look good!) EDIT: Boundary is gone as well for Dark mode... (Screenshot below) Please now FIX THE VTT DARK MODE debacle! (<- BOLD formatting needs to be more distinguishable! But this is a font decision!) EDIT: a) PLEASE FIX the Editor when Editing a Post! If you scroll down, the options bar overlaps with the text! Buttons STILL MALFUNCTION when you edit a post! (outline is a bit thicker, but that's just it!) AND btw. ALL Dropdowns are transparent as well and if opened overlap with the Text makes them NOT READABLE AT ALL! b) Use a different color for Upvotes in Suggestions Forum: And PLEASE increase the font size or change the contrast for the forum entries: c) Please GET RID of this cartoony font for games (or thread headers here in Forums!): Header in the Forums:
Further Falsehoods on the Blog Report Blog Report said: We’re also following widely accepted  accessibility standards  for web development, consistently aiming to improve our core experience for most users of our site. Our core platform colors before  weren’t accessible , and those we use in dark mode are, helping those with visual impairment or sensitivity with optimal contrast. We recently made tweaks to the light color mode and used Customer Satisfaction surveys to measure the results. The outcome of the survey showed that about 20% percent of the population did not notice the design changes; of those who did, 66% reacted very favorably, and an additional 22% were neutral to the changes. 1. You are NOT following accessibility standards. Your design change actively made accessibility substantially worse. This is a legal claim that you fail to meet (current scoring is a failing grade of 50-60% accessible). 2. Your core platform colors before WERE accessible since then they were simple black on white, not magenta (a color not recommended at all for accessibility). 3. The amount of people that noticed was so overwhelming that Roll20 mods literally shut down all of the threads criticizing the changes (which has been happening almost daily). 4. I literally did not see a single person that has been in favor of the changes as opposed to what the site looked like in January. Some may have liked parts of the change, but loathed others. Nobody saw the change as an active win. Stop treating your community like amnesiac ditch diggers. There is a substantial overlap with the Roll20 community and the software development community. Some of us are literal ADA Compliance Officers and find your assertions disrespectful.
Hi there, Thanks for the feedback! We are actively trying to collect feedback in a centralized location on our Product Portal here . There was an issue with the link previously that should be corrected now-- sorry 'bout that! Please feel free to resubmit or add new feedback to the portal above. If you’re experiencing any issues with your game, send in a help request . To keep things tidy we’ll be closing this thread.
