Feature Request: Tracking Movement of Tokens as They are Moved

Hi, This is a very simple idea. I would like, as you drag a token, the distance you are dragging the token to pop up beside the token in a little counter. As you move the token further, the counter counts up showing the distance moved. When the token is place down, the distance moved lingers for a second or so, before fading away. Its silly in a digital context to have one tool for measuring movement, and one tool for actually moving the tokens. This doesn't come up often in 5e, as everything is squares, but it would come up especially in tabletop games like Warhammer or the like. In either case I think this is not terribly difficult to implement and could be optional. Tell me what you think.
Danny, have you tried using waypoints ?

This already exists, hit "Q" when you pick up the token, and "Q" at any waypoint you want.

Interesting! I didn't know that it worked this way. That isn't quite what I want -- its a bit clunky to be tapping Q -- but its serviceable.
you can also press x at the end of your movement and the path you took reappears with the distance on the screen.

If tapping Q isn't to your liking, I believe you can also right-click while dragging to set waypoints (at least that's what one of my players told me, haven't tried). I use the Q method since I'm using keyboard shortcuts all the time anyway.

Interesting. The right-click does work, as does the 'x' version. Thanks folks! I have thousands of hours in Roll20 and didn't know these shortcuts.
