I just got a survey on roll20?

September 20 (2 years ago)

Hi I've been on roll20 a while now and I was just looking at my games I think and a survey popped up, I think in the lower left.  It asked a few questions and after a bit asked me to complete a larger survey, then it sent me to another website.

I didn't really see anything about this besides maybe something on the roll20 reddit.  Is this survey an intended thing and from roll20?   Is it legit and all good? I just wanted a simple post on the forums in case anyone like me might be concerned about it too.

Thanks for the help!

I’ve seen several of those. Often they are quick surveys, and other times they are short demo test runs of potential new features.

today it was about making some quick maps....

I djon't get it... don't they have enough suggestions to fulfill before looking for other stuff to create that would potentially break other stuff ... ?

Those are real on here. Yes, true, it can Pop Up in the lower-corner of Roll20, and then sends you to a different website (one that talks about a Survey Maze).

Take the survey.

They give you a glimspe into some of the upcoming or proposed designs/features, and lets you comment, Like or Dislike.

It usually takes 2-5 minutes, the longest ones might take 10-20 minutes to answer (rarely).

@ Lionel these surveys are not fishing for new Suggestions. Oftentimes they are presenting 2 different versions of a way to fulfill an existing Suggestion, and then asking the surveyed-user if it appears that it would work as expected, or if it needs more work. This seems quite a bit better than when Roll20 drops a change on the live production server without forewarning or user-testing.

I always accept the survey if I’m using my desktop, but I always decline if I’m using my iPad.
