Ajax Will Be Running His First D&D Next (5E) Session Friday Night

Having been mostly running Pathfinder Games I have decided to give the New D&D edition a shot. I will run a Short 5E campaign starting this Friday August 22nd, at 8:00 PM CST. This campaign will use the Starter Set Pre Generated Characters and is more of an Introductory event. All the the characters have Scripted Macros to ease you into the system. The campaign will have 4 to 5 players, as there are 5 PreGens. I will Post the Link to this event sometime around 6:00 PM CST... If you are interested in learning to Play D&D Next (again using the Basic Rules) or just want to try out the new system, Please post something here. This is not actually a One Shot but will probably run at least 2 or 3 sessions..

Are we required to use the pregen characters? If we, by chance, have experience and a phb handy could we create our own for this? I have plenty of d&d experience but next to zero roll20 experience.

i am interested in playing and will be home right at 8 cst or maybe 10 after. if that is alright i would love to get in this game, any character is fine.

Hey I'd be interested! I played the 5e beta with friends some but I'd like to be acquainted with the final release. I'd prefer to play sorcerer/wizard/warlock if possible.

I'm game, Ajax Are these all level 1 or do they have some class paths setup?

It uses the 5 characters supplied with the Starter Set, they are complete with minor backgrounds, personality traits, ideals, goals, and flaws. This will probably run for a few weeks, in that time if I acquire the Players Handbook I may let player generated characters in. Right now I have the 5 PreGens set up and incorporated into the story. This campaign is entirely my own design and has nothing to do with any of the existing 5E material. I hope to have a full slate of 5 players. The rule set is the Basic Rules, of which all the Character Sheets have a Link to....

Are we using Skype or Google plus for chat?

If you are still running this I would love to give it a go. I'm not new to D&D/Pathfinder but I am to Roll20. I use almost every kind of communication (Team Speak, Mumble, Skype, Hangouts). I am really looking forward to getting into the Roll20 system here.

For those of us who are already interested, could we be shown our character sheet? It would be nice to get a good idea of what we're playing as.

The Characters are: two human fighters, one with a Noble Background, one with a Folk Hero Background, one dwarf cleric with a Soldier Background, one halfling rogue with a Criminal Background, and one half elf Wizard with an Acolyte Background. These characters will be available after 6:00 PM CST, when the Link is Posted. If you have a preference Post it here asap and get into the game and take possession as soon as the Link goes up, although once you have the character, you don't need to be back until 15 minutes before the game starts (8:00 PM CST)... We will use either Skype or Hangouts, a working Mic is mandatory, we never use video.... -Ajax
