Looking for someone to teach me Dnd 4e

Hi, New to Roll20, and this place is freaking awesome. Main reason I'm here is to find someone who is willing to teach me the game of dnd, most recent edition. It's a game i've wanted to play for far to long, also wanted to be able to teach it to my friend so we can play the actual game together. Going to be on roll20 most of the night in hopes of a responce i really wanna play like asap. here is my contacts. Email: reddsrum@yahoo.com skype: graverust Hope to see you soon!!

Technically, 4th Edition is not the most recent version of D&D anymore. 5th Edition just came out. If you don't get anyone to contact you, I'd recommend using the Looking For Group system for D&D games that are welcoming to new players (there's a checkbox for it in the search parameters).
Wut 5th is out doh x.x, alright, Kristin thanks.

There's still plenty of people who play 4th Edition D&D on Roll20, so if that's the version you want to learn, than there won't be a shortage of fellow gamers to play with. Just wanted to let you know about the recent edition bump.
Sweet i'll learn what i can on the 4th and move to the 5th, thanks!

4th and 5th edition are very different games; many players prefer one over the other. 4th edition is much further towards the "gamist" side of the spectrum (it tries to be a game more than it tries to simulate a fictional world or to tell a story), while 5th edition is closer to the "simulationist" end of the spectrum. (Of course, there also exist games further along the gamist-simulationist axis in both directions than D&D 4e/5e.) Play both and see what you like best! =)

As long as I get to dungeon crawl, all i care about lol. thank you for the information though!
Wizard of the Coast released a free version of the 5e (NEXT) edition's basic rules that also contains character creation rules : Link 4e also has QuickStart rules ( link ) that contains a few pre-gen characters but does not include rules to make your own. In either scenario, if you're not looking to invest money on game materials, Roll20's community is wonderfully supportive of new players and there are games cropping up for new people all the time. On a more practical matter; you're more likely to be on even footing with 5e though, as it's brand new and everyone is still learning the system.
