[LFP][5E][18+] Strahd Must Die Tonight! Halloween One-Shot / Oct. 30th - 12 pm to 4~ pm CST

Hello players of Roll20, it’s been a while. I’ll get right to it. I’m looking to run a Curse of Strahd one shot for Halloween this year. I’ve always wanted to do this but wasn’t sure how you’d tackle such a massive, detailed module like that in just one night. Luckily, James Haeck over on DND Beyond has already done the legwork of making an outline for this; Strahd Must Die Tonight! Basic Info Day/Time: October 30th, 12pm to 4~pm CST Duration: 4 hours+ (+however long it takes for Strahd to kill you, or you to kill him. If you have a tight schedule, it could take upwards of 5 hours total) Slots: 3/5 (I already have two others joining us) Level: 8th level (intended for a medium difficulty adventure) Voice: Discord About the game This isn’t a normal session of D&D, nor is it your average D&D setting. The 18+ warning is there for a reason, this setting is dark…and Castle Ravenloft is the final destination of the Curse of Strahd module. You can bet on the Dark Lord’s domain to be challenging and spooky…Strahd Must Die. If you have a sensitive flair, faint heart, or don’t find a challenging game to be appealing, do not read further. Strahd Must Die. You are going to have till the 4 hour mark in real life time, to be ready to fight Strahd. When that timer hits 4:00, it's showtime. Ready or not, Strahd is coming. Strahd Must Die. Since Castle Ravenloft is massive, we are going to need to be upbeat and moving constantly. You will be looking for things to defeat the vampire, weapons, armor, scrolls, potions, allies…whatever will increase your odds of coming out on top. Strahd Must Die. I won’t hit you with “random” encounters, but the vampire lord may make an appearance every now and then to taunt you. Strahd Must Die. Some roleplay is fine, but you only have so much time to explore and deal with challenges, this probably isn’t the game to really flex roleplaying muscles or try to have very deep/intimate moments with other characters. You will get time to shine, though. Strahd Must Die. Combat will be handled quickly, generally speaking you will have a minute, at the most, to decide what you will do. Once your move is carried out, there will be no take backs. Strahd Must Die. Obviously, the only way to escape your fate of becoming another ghost in the march, is to defeat the Dark Lord. Busting a window or using teleport will not be viable. Strahd Must Die. When you make your character, you can make someone who was born in Barovia or ended up there through some unfortunate means. They should want to either leave the domain, or end the tyranny of Strahd. He’s not a nice guy, or misunderstood. He’s wiped a village off the map for a slight, constantly terrorizes the populace. You cannot fix him. Strahd Must Die. If/When you die, provided it’s not a TPK, you will simply fall unconscious and gain a nasty injury. The only instance you lose your character is if Strahd himself kills them. Strahd Must Die. You will each receive a fortune, before you even go into the Castle. That fortune will lead you to a beneficial item or person within the Castle. You can, of course, feel free to look around further if you are doing well on time. Be careful though, time waits for nobody, and neither does Strahd…Strahd Must Die. Player Requirements -18+ (dark game, not holding back anything) -LGBT+ friendly (let's try to be inclusive, yeah?) -Flexible on rules (some homebrew rules will be implemented, and i may ignore rules entirely for dramatic effect for your benefit, or otherwise) -Focused on playing (as in, not having to step away constantly or at risk of not being there at all) -Not disruptive (we’re literally on a time limit) That’s all I believe, if you have any questions, feel free to ask below or ask them when I add you on Discord.
