Dynamic Lighting Question

I want to create a wall where light flows from one side to the other, but restricts movement of the players through it.  That's not an entirely accurate representation of what I want, so let me get a bit bloated here.  Imagine, if you will, the following setup on a map: Players | Monsters The pipe character there is the wall in question.  What I want is for the wall to be one-way, with light flowing from the side of the monsters to the side of the players.  The players won't be able to see that there is light coming from there as there will be torches in the room right next to that wall, so they won't see any difference.  And I want to restrict the players from moving through the wall until/unless they figure out it exists and dispel it (it's technically an illusion).  I don't need to worry about moving the monsters through it because, well, I'm the GM, and I can just hand-wave anything that needs to happen so long as I'm not hosing the players and I've got this documented. Will a one-way wall on the dynamic lighting layer work here?  If so, what way should the arrows be pointing?  Towards the players to show that's the direction this works? If the description isn't enough, let me know and I'll post up an image of the map I'm using with notes!
Why not just use a transparent wall and delete it when they dispel it ?
Well...because...um...I, uh...never thought of that.  I always try to find the most complex solution to any problem I can! But I will do that!  Thanks!
