Developing Forgotten Games for Roll 20

I have a cabinet of gaming curiosities to bring to Roll 20; old games, largely forgotten and at least in one case incredibly rare.  My thought had been to develop a YouTube channel around the mechanics, character development and presentation of each game, then create educational material on Roll 20 to show people how to play.  Thankfully my first choice of game, Nosolorol's Aquelarre was hardly forgotten and has a character sheet (thanks to Kinower & Velczer).  Several other games however remain terribly obscure.  These include -  Fringeworthy (TriTac Games, 1986) Morrow Project (TriTac Games, 1979) Aria: Canticle of the Monomyth (Last Unicorn Gamesm1994) Skyrealms of Jorune (Chessex 1982) Ringworld (Chaosium 1982) Each of these systems step outside the D20 / D100 universe in interesting ways.  And while they probably won't replace your current pantheon may help inform your campaign development or home roles or even game development in several ways.  Skyrealms of Jorune for example has pre-established numeric skill levels that differ for each skill; learning swordplay is much more straightforward, for example, than learning Thriddle (don't ask, keep reading!).  And the combat system is D20 with plenty of additional tables ripe for Macro development.      I would be interested to float a request for proposal on developing a character sheet and compendium for Chessex' Skyrealms of Jorune.  I would be happy to shell out a couple of hundred dollars US for a detailed estimate of what is required to reproduce the game mechanics in Roll 20.  Let's start the conversation here before moving offline.      Meanwhile I would be happy to receive insight, inputs and commentary on these "forgotten games" and what their resuscitation may require!

There are several elements to game support in Roll20:  1) Dice rolling: are there unique dice types that Roll20 does not currently support? Roll20 has done a pretty good job at providing dice options to cover most games but, you never know.  2) Character Sheets: Do you want an auto-calculation sheet or a basic fillable sheet? The more complicated the sheet the more it will cost you to pay a sheet creator to make. I have heard of prices upwards of a couple thousand dollars for character sheet development (if a character sheet developer could chime in here that would be great).  Additionally this can involve legal issues to reproduce existing sheets. Example: at one point there was a Battletech sheet in development that got killed due to legal issues.  3) Compendium: Do you want the rules to be in a rules compendium?  This can also cost a lot of money to implement. Additionally permission for this MUST be acquired from whoever holds the IP of the game.  Ultimately, for these 'little played' games my suggestion would be to skip steps 2 and 3, use a legally allowable 'personal use only' PDF version of the character sheet, and use the Roll20 character's Attributes & Abilities tab to build the information in Roll20 and roll things via macros. Macros are easy in comparison to #2 and #3. :) This was how we did things in the early days of Roll20 before the character sheets became a thing.

edit - ninja'd What's the copyright status of all of these systems? You're free to create a character sheet (but no original artwork, it must be your own work), but you can't create any actual content (like a compendium) from the published work unless you are the rights holder, you have permission from the publisher, or they're explicitly public domain works.

Adding to Gauss' suggestion, I can recommend upgrading to a Pro subscription and using ScriptCards to automate lots of mechanics without needing a Roll20 Character Sheet.  I use it for all my 13th Age monster abilities so it handles all the D20 automation 13th Age uses for monster abilities. It's great.

There is a Sheet Request thread&nbsp; <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/10137951/character-sheet-requests-q3-2021" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/10137951/character-sheet-requests-q3-2021</a> Skyrealms of Jorune&nbsp; and Ringworld are on my possibles list. Ringworld more so but there is a technical issue holding up starting it. You can forget about c ompendiums especially&nbsp;for Ringworld and probably&nbsp; Aria: Canticle of the Monomyth.
Thanks to everyone for your responses!&nbsp; Gauss the games require no special dice.&nbsp; I have started reaching out to publishers to gauge their interest.&nbsp; Would you have any links to How-Tos on the Attributes and Abilities Tab?&nbsp; I've been alpha-testing Macro options for Skyrealms of Jorune combat, but at some point a character sheet of some variety would be helpful. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Andrew would you have good How-To links on ScriptCards?&nbsp; This sounds promising for combat options. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;David I haven't yet mounted these to the link you provide.&nbsp; I'm glad to hear Skyrealms of Jorune is on your list, and should Chessex reply to my emails I will aim to bring you to the conversation.&nbsp; As for RIngworld and Aria I have hardcopy of the original rules..

Attributes: <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Character#Attributes_.26_Abilities_Tab" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Character#Attributes_.26_Abilities_Tab</a> Macros: <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Macros" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Macros</a> Basically, you put the information you need into your attributes.&nbsp; Example: if there is a strength score, it goes into an attribute.&nbsp; Then you make macros (I suggest Ability Macros for a default sheet) to make rolls, using the attributes as needed.&nbsp;
