Hi... i'm 44, and have 30 years experience with a lot of different games. I have a bachelors degree in game design. I'm on the autism spectrum, and thus i participate in dialogue sporadically at best, however I do have a great understanding of D&D relevant combat tactics and fight science, and tend to do most of my role playing combat adjacent. I like straight 3d6 in order for stats in 1st and 2nd ed. In 3rd ed and beyond, i like standard array. I oppose the very idea of re-rolling 1s in stat generation, but if that's what everyone else is doing, I will grudgingly go along. I think healing magic is OP and needs a good severe nerfing. I think an overnight stay at an inn should not be sufficient to heal broken bones and severed limbs. I know from experience that a standing person can grapple an opponent, and shove them to the ground, and maintain the grapple while remaining in a standing position themself, and feel that this should be an option in D&D as well, and to my knowledge, there are no rulings against it.  It is my understanding that a grappled opponent can be maneuvered over the edge of a cliff and dropped. It is my understanding that not every battle is a pitched battle, and that sometimes one or both sides are surprised, and that getting the jump on your opponent should matter even if you're not a rogue. It is my understanding that player characters can set traps. It is my understanding that heavy objects do damage when hurled, rolled, or dropped at/on people. It is my opinion that targeted spells can be used on inanimate objects in order to achieve certain results, but this would have to be house ruled, as the current ruleset does not account for such things. I will play any d&d but I enjoy intra human/humanoid combat the most, because humanoids are relatively person shaped and they have familiar biology, and emotions, and they have expressive faces that are more fun to smash, and when they burn to death, humanoids suffer the best. Humans especially so. Oh... and I don't like erotic role play, heavy romance, or humiliation. Those are deal breakers, all 3. If this group is a good fit for me, let me know.
bah... nobody wants to play with me anyway... I'm a toxic male aggression or whatever.
A bit about me: I work from home with lots of down time, 40 years old, laid back, kind, patient, friendly former Marine. Happily married and emotionally intelligent. TTRPG Experience: 2 years playing D&D all in 5e, mostly as a DM running Lost Mine of Phandelver, Waterdeep: Dragon Heist & Undermountain for a group of close friends using Roll20, D&D Beyond for character sheet management, Discord for game coordination/downtime chat in between games and my work Zoom account for video chat. I'm excited for the opportunity to be considered as a player at your table. If I seem like a good fit, feel free to reply here or reach out on Discord at Boogieman8541#3148. Thanks for your consideration and have a great game! -Boogie
