Promethean Boards and Roll20

So one of the other teachers at my school are starting up an afterschool club for DnD. This school year all our classrooms were outfitted with Touchscreen units.  Our plan was to use TVs and use Roll20 for maps. But we were thinking of using the boards that are already on the wall in the classroom. So I started to look into if touch screens were supported. I plan on testing the Touch20 extension at school this week prior to our fist club meeting this Thursday.  Assuming things work well we were going to use Roll20 on the screen and let the kids move the virtual tokens around the board as we go.  Has anyone tried this? What tips and tricks should we consider? Why is this a horrible idea?

Sounds legit to me. As long as the big screen isn’t the GM perspective. You want the GM perspective to be exclusive to the DM in a D&D game. Otherwise, there’s a major conflict of interest as I’m sure you are aware. Be sure to give the kids access to a co-GM account which has Pro level subscription so you can teach them how to write API code in addition to the macros.

Hi Barney! If using Chrome, look into the extension Touch20. I don't use a touchscreen for Roll20, but it is my understanding that it shores up some of the shortfalls of the Roll20 touch interface. And good luck! I was president of my D&D club in high school back in the Stone Age. I wish we had had teachers as engaged as you.
